Mr & Mrs Letters

charlottelucy, 30 August, 2011 at 13:28 Posted on Planning 0 27

My OH and I went to Hobbycraft yesterday to have a look at stuff for our invites etc and saw they had paper mache letters we thought we could decorate and use for our tob table. My only concern was that as they are made of paper mache will they fall over everytime someone walks past and would be better off buying more expensive ones made of MDF on ebay?

Has anyone used the Hobbycraft ones and got any feedback?

Thank youuuu x

They are from the website Not On The Highstreet and were about £20. They have loads of different styles for different prices.

    Hi Dilly

They are gorgeous! Do they stand up without wobbling? x

Pretty much! Don't think they'd stand up to someone running into the table but generally they are fine. Had them stood up in the staff room one lunchtime and they were fine. x

I bought the freestanding mdf letters off ebay and painted them myself, these were not much more expensive than the paper mache ones form Hobbycraft tbh.

These were my letters, they all have flat bases including the S, C and O's.

Same as these (although not this seller...) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Free-standing-carved-wooden-letters-rounded-edge-15cm-/120763969548?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Decorative_Accents_LE&hash=item1c1e17f00c

These look really nice! Where would you put them on the day though? on the head table or a side table?

We had ours on the windowsill so that they were behind our table and next to the dancefloor.

I have seen them along the front of a long top table, on the card table or cake table or even just a table all to themselves!

Question to those who have used these - how easy are they to paint?
