mums corsage

cozmiceye, 29 May, 2012 at 18:45 Posted on Planning 0 17

Good evening ladies and hope you are well away with your plnning.

This has probably been asked lots of times before but im having trouble with my mum and MIL2b corsages. Do they match the buttonholes and my flowers etc or am i better sticking with ivory which is the colour of my dress. As far as i am aware they havent picked their outfits but i would hate for it to clash with their clothes or just look so out of place.

Any help would be grateful. X

Ours are having 'ladies button holes.' They are the same colour as the men's but with added gypsophilia (sp?) I don't think it matters really. Might be nice for them to have the same if it won't clash with their outfits.

They should really match their outfits rather than the wedding colours to avoid any colour clashes. Complimenting flowers will 'make' an outfit whereas the wrong colours can ruin the look.

Oops, I am making my mum and MoG wear sunflowers to match the men's buttonholes and my bouquet. However my mum was aware of this and said she would rather have matching flowers. Hopefully her outfit won't look too bad with bright yellow, I don't think anyone will care anyway.

I hadn't thought of matching to the colours of the mum's outfits at all. Our mums are having the same as the Groomsmen but with a little more flowery look to it, so it will be pinks/purples!

I am just matching their corsages with other flowers as I hadn't really thought about matching them to their outfits however our flowers are all ivory so they should go anyways and won't clash. My mam is wearing aqua colour and fmil is wearing black and ivory so hopefully they will be fine

Our flowers were all ivory anyway so the 2 mums and nan had corsages matching them but fancier. They had handbag corsages as they didnt want pin holes in their dresses.

Ours are matching the wedding flowers as I wanted them to feel part of the wedding. I did think ahead though as ours are light pink, hot pink, lime and ivory so they are just having a corsage made of the ivory flowers so it will go with whatever they choose to wear.

We are getting corsages for MIL2B, grand-MIL2B and my Nanna - having the same flowers as in the bouquets and button-holes, but all in Ivory. That way they do match, but they will also go with each different outfit Smiley smile xx

Mil, Nan & Mother will all have ivory corsages with pearls. They don't match the others except they are roses...

Thanks, can't wait for them all to arrive and see how everything looks together, it's all been guesswork really.

IshouldCoco - love your ivory ones.

Thanks, PB, they are on pins though (I mean metal ones, not them being nervous). Hoping the 'mums' don't mind too much...

Your sunflowers will be lovely with your Mum's outfit! Yellow compliments her outfit well. Sorry, what I should have said was that the Mums corsages should go with the colour of their outfit so there are no obvious clashes. For example, if a Mum was wearing purple, it wouldn't be fair on any Mum after she's spent a lot of time, effort and money on her outfit to give her a corsage in brown and orange because it's an Autumn wedding and those were the colours the bridesmaids were having as this would totally ruin the look.

    Hi,

I think it`s best to match with the mum`s outfits so perhaps opt for neutral white cream or ivory if they need to be ordered before they have their outfits. You could ask them to see which they would prefer.

    Hope that helps

    Lynne
