Music festivals

I've only ever been to festivals for single days before but I'd love to go to one for a weekend and camp there. Have I left it too late for this year? Are there any with tickets still available? I'd be more than happy to go one of the smaller ones. I was thinking about Summer Sundae but the camping for that is in my work's grounds and it's put me off slightly ?

Needs to be a family friendly one as we'll have a 2 year old with us.

?

The Big Chill is great for families, just make sure you camp in family camping as it can get a bit loud in the regular camping areas.

Summer sundae is brilliant, especially for a first time festy. I went a few years ago now and saw some wicked bands that have gone onto greater things e.g. Kasabian. Headliners were Air & Super Furry Animals.

ETS: I lived in Leicester at the time so didn't have to camp, just a quick stroll to my warm, clean home!

tahdah - didn't you see the bit I posted about Summer Sundae? ? It is fab though. I was there the year Kasabian played too!

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll go and google them.

if you can be bothered schlepping to scotland, you can still get tickets for these:

Personally the closer to home the better!!

At least you'd be familiar with your surroundings (I;m presuming you work for the Uni) and you could nip into works toilets for a wash.

No, I'm not at the uni. Hmm....maybe. I'll give it a ponder.

Depends where you are and the music/vibe you're after but Camp Bestival looks fab for families - it's new this year, in Dorset. I think it'll be quite similar to the Big Chill in that there's quite a big dance music element and the clientele are late 20's/early 30's clubbers and people with young children. Also Bloom is small but fun.

If you wanted something more folksy Green Man is fab for children and the End of the Road is supposed to be great too. Or you could go posh and go to Cornbury. Or there are still tickets for Glastonbury I think!

Can you tell I've done my research on this? ? We were going to Blissfields with our 8 month old but it's been cancelled so I think we're going to go for Camp Bestival. The only ones I would avoid are Reading/Leeds and V, as having been to both I don't think they're very baby friendly.
