Music for Civil Ceremony

xxxsnowbunnyxxx, 8 December, 2008 at 13:56 Posted on Planning 0 9

I am really struggerling girlies, I have had the form to send of to the registrar on my desk for about a month now and I still can't pick any music for the ceremony.

I picked the first dance music easy but I am really struggerling.

OH would like classic instremental music, but I haven't heard any that are "right".

I have picked Canon in D which we will have on a loop for when the people are arriving. And I am having her comes the bride for when I walk down the aisle.

But i need help on the siging the registrar music and when we walk out.

Can anyone help please ?

Also, how does it normally work, do we put the songs on cd or something, I know the hotel said they can provide a cd player.

We struggled with this bit too!

For walking in we had - We are free by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard. Its the song from Gladiator, I love it!

Register - We are Man and Wife - Michelle Featherstone. This is from One Tree Hill, one of my favourite shows. So Beautiful - Darren Hayes. Us against the World - Wstlife and Come What May - Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman.

Walking out - Feeling good - Muse.

We put these on CD, and make sure you take a spare with you just in case they lose the original!

A lot of these were nicked from other hitched brides ? Good luck with finding the right songs for you!

I should think if you put the songs on CD and the hotel have said that they will provide a player it shouldn't be a problem. Just check with them wether the CD had to be an original or not. You could then ask one of the ushers to be in charge of the player to make sure the right song is played as and when you want it.

Im having Air on a G String by Bach for when I walk down the aisle, but it would work perfectly for the signing

Crikey i didnt know we had to choose for the civil argh argh argh! you've done well though to get your first dance song as i cant ever imagine getting to that stage...although i did jokingly say to h2b about having suede 'beautiful ones' as we walk out of ceremony so perhaps i'll stick to that.

Loving everyone elses music, they are all fab and will give me some ideas too.

I am pretty sure I will have this

to walk down the aisle to and then hopefully Ben E. King Stand by Me at some point, and INXS Never Tear us apart to walk back down the aisle.

I also want Rule the World for our first dance but not sure StupidBoy will go for this! Maybe wonderwall instead.

Am also thinking about The Blower's Daughter as it's so lovely. But will make me cry.

For our walking out music we had The Wedding March, but a honky tonk, jazzy version we found on I Tunes. It sounds naff but it wasnt. The music started fairly normal as we were still standing at the top of the aisle, we waited for it to kick in and then literally boogied as we walked down the little aisle.

It was nice to see people surprised and laughing and enjoying our upbeat kind of music !

I have changed my mind so much with this. Good job I have a while to wait! At the moment I am walking in to Thats what friends are for by Dionne Warwick, having That's All by Rod Stewart and Every Day I love you by Boyzone for the register signing, and still not sure on walking out. Perhaps I guess I'll always love you by Isley Brothers or We go together from Grease.
