Music Help!!

Miss-b, 28 June, 2016 at 12:28 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hi Ladies, I need some music for during the wedding breakfast and I need about 2 hours worth.. I'm hoping to just buy some sort of compilation CD so that I don't have to spend hours deciding on songs etc.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a CD they have used at your own wedding, or just something you know of?

Ideally looking for wedding appropriate and as its the meal needs to be fairly laid back and chilled.

Any advice would be appreciated as this music is starting to do my nut in!! Still haven't decided what I am walking down the aisle to!!

    Hiya,

    What about this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Now-Thats-What-Call-Wedding/dp/B004TBY26E

Might be a bit cheesy in places though, have you thought about instrumental?

I feel lucky, the music seems to have been the easiest bit so far Smiley smile

I think we're going to have something like this in the background! They seem to do quite up to date songs, so I feel all ages would be happy with it!! The Modern Wedding Collection, Vol. 2 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00D233QGM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_vdQCxbR4PQK16

We're using the London Philharmonic Orchestra Greatest Video Game Music CD for during the meal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyvwODEjmXw

For before the ceremony, I'm going to put together a compilation of my favourite J-Pop songs.

We used The Vitamin String Quartet too. We just made a Spotify playlist with loads of their songs on it, it didn't take long.

It worked well for us as we like rock music and put some heavy songs on there so our friends had fun guessing the song while all the oldies thought it was nice instrumental music!

Depends what music you are into, but we had chill out cafe del mar followed by a ministry of sound chill out on! Guests are eating & chatting, & unlikely to really be listening to the music. Keep it low & in the background only. If there are specific bands/songs you are into, check if they have a slower/chill out/acoustic version available.

    FYI- I had:

    walking in: canon in D

signing register: kissed by a rose- seal

walking out: I do, I do, I do- Abba

What about subscribing to Deezer or Spotify for a few months? We have a Deezer account & have made our own playlists, but there's loads on there that other people have created & shared for weddings.

I am only putting music I like, so a playlist from my itunes, of songs that don't have loads of swearing! I don't care if it's 'wedding' music.

Someone said one of the 'chill out' compilations..that might be nice.

I've not really listened to a lot of their stuff, to be honest. I tend to go for boybands and male vocalists more - SID, X4, One OK Rock etc. But I am a big fan of SCANDAL, and I've just downloaded some of Babymetal's stuff from itunes to have a listen. I want to get some J-Pop/Rock into the DJ's playlist for the evening, but need to find some tunes that my other friends (the ones who refuse to listen to anything that isn't in English) will dance to as well.
