Well here it is. We've just returned from our lovely minimoon to centreparcs. We both got so ill that my husband ? took me to the doctors. My chest got all tight and he was worried about me and baby. Well we've both recovered now. Husband got man flu. He's making the slowest recovery ever. lol
This is very long.......
Tuesday 14th - finished work and just relaxed at night. Made the lists of various things that had to be taken to various places and be completed. We both just spent some time together before the wedding madness began.
Wednesday 15th - final dress fitting and was meant to pick it up but as some of you remember it wasn't ready til 9pm that night!! Any way I got it in the end. In the afternoon I went to get my gel nail done. They were amazing and were so long I couldn't do anything so H had to do alot of it. Began to pack for our wedding weekend and the week after. Also I needed two bags and two sets of toiletries as was getting ready at my parents rented place.
Thursday 16th - Family had started their 10hr drive to Suffolk and we headed to town to pick up all the glasses and into for the final bits and H's correct waitscoat. Thankfully Burton's managed to order the correct size afterall. I also had my eyes and brows taken care of. We also went our for lunch together as it wold be the last time we would see each other just the two of us until after the wedding. My family finally arrived at 9.30pm from Scotland looking very worn out. Bless them but all very excited about it. My granny and her dementia was off the charts. She was confused. We've realised that we cannot take her away from home for so long again. Shame really.
Friday 17th - Major wedding prep began. H headed off in the works van with all the wine, fizz, glasses and hall decorations ready to meet the table hire people and begin setting up the hall. No one would let me lift anything "in my condition" so I got bored very easily and also manage to snap off one of my gel nails. Bad start to the day but that was the only thing that went wrong. Tables etc finally arrived so managed to get that all done before lunch and also before all my friends arrived from Scotland. We had rented a mahoosive house for us all to stay in and we had everybody round for fish and chips. Think the total came to £125 for us all. They were at least 30 of us. After this everybody headed to the pub but me and my sister headed to my parents to get an early night and I was really coming down with the cold. Not good.
Saturday 18th - WEDDING DAY. Well I did not slepp well. But never thought I would. My fabby hairdresser did our hair and it looked amazing. She arrived at 6.30am!!! But all the other, makeup lady and flower lady all got lost! GRanted we were not easy to find but no one phoned for directions!!! Makeup lady was half hour late but managed to finish in time. I finally put my dress on at 10.30am which is when I was meant to be leaving!! MUm didn't actually get to see me in it before she left ☹️ as she had to leave to get our bus to the venue, and sister forgot to put her earrings on. Finally at 10.45am BM, My dad and me left for the venue. After what seemed like an eternity we got there and we were told to circle as the previous ceremony had ran over. Found out later that we were told wrong and should've just hung around.
The ceremony itself went without a hitch and before you know it I was Mrs Allison. Had some photos outside and then headed back to reception venue. Speeches went well and so did the choice of food. MY parents actually commented on how much everybody was eating. I knew we were right not to change it. We had a bit of a lull between so the older relatives went off for a lie down and the hall was transformed for the evening! Evening guests began to arrive and the music began about 7.30pm. The DJ left something to be desired! He kept talking over the music and playing nonwedding disco music but we sorted that. Our first dance went to plan and our big exploding balllon caught a few people off guard but we got some great photos from it.
The funniest thing I've seen in ages is a huge group of English people trying to ceilidh dance. It was so funny!! Before you know it the night was over and we heading home. By this point it was 1.30am and I had been up for 19hours and my cold was full on so I went off to bed leaving everybody else up still partying! H tried to read the guest book to me but I fell asleep on him.
The Sunday was spent with everyone swapping stories and having a relaxed bbq at ours and then everybody went off home. Still a bit of a blur to be honest.
I'm hoping to stick around for some of the others and I will definitely be more on BT with LO growing steadily.
Hope it wasn't too long and if you made this far then you deserve a prize.
Yours, Vicki Allison x
