MY CAT HAS RETURNED!!

Mrs Roo, 12 July, 2008 at 10:11 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 4

Sorry for shouting, but I'm just a teensy bit excited and in shock! He disappeared on 15th May ?, and we got a phone call last night from someone about a mile away saying they'd got him! I just can't believe it, we seriously thought we'd never see him again. He's been at the vets overnight - about 2-3 days ago at a guess he got one leg through his collar, and it's caused a wound in his armpit (as you can probably imagine), and probably due to that he was quite dehydrated and stinky from the bad leg but otherwise I can't believe how good he looked for two months AWOL. He's had IV fluids overnight and they're going to sedate him and clean him up this morning, all being well we should be able to get him this afternoon. He'll be under house arrest for a good while now until he heals, and even then I'm going to be so twitchy letting him out again. There's a few new friends for him too - we got two guinea pigs (outside) about 3 weeks ago, and last night I collected a hamster (was in need of a new home, poor mite). I'm sure they'll all be best friends though [wink]

I'm just keeping everything crossed he'll be totally fine with some antibiotics and tlc, and that his wanderlust is well and truly sated (he's nearly 13!).

Aw I'm really pleased he has returned. It always amazes me as to where they get to when they wander off like this. I'm sure he'll have lots of attention lavished on him and will be very pampered for some time.
