My dress!!

So in my other post I mentioned that I've gotten a little bored with planning as it seems so far away (a year) at the moment.

However, one thing I think I have finally gotten sorted is my dress. Here is a link to some pics of the dress and with me in it but I would really value your opinions. At the momenyI love it and I think when its the right size etc it should be fabulous, but it would be good to know what other people think as I've got dress-blindness at the moment and really finding it hard to know what looks good or not.

Just so you know I'm only 4'10" so dress shopping has been a pain as its so hard to tell what it'll be like in my size, (I'm standing on a big box here and the dress is a size or two too big)

    I think it's really nice and once it fits it should be really flattering. It's nice to have a bit of sparkle!

    Hi Jess - the dress is gorgeous, love the detailing. You look fab in it as far as I can see (unless I have dress blindness too?). Always good to get second opinions though. Did you try many on before deciding on that one? Trust your gut instinct as it usually is right. I ended up going back to the second dress in the first shop. I knew it was the one I wanted really but went throught the motions of trying others cos I thought I should.

    Our wedding seemed ages away at the 12 month stage and all of a sudden its 8 months!

    Hope the boredom lessens soon.

    It's a nice dress, but (please don't flame opinions have been requested) I do think it might be overly fussy for you? Perhaps something with a simpler middle e.g. less embroidery on the waist.

    You've got ages yet so take your time to find the one that you REALLY love!

    It is a beautiful dress and i think you look lovely in it but i have to agree i personally think its a bit too fussy around the bust area and waist but i loved the deatail on the back.

    But at the end of the day its got to be what YOU feel comfy in.

    It's a lovely dress and you look great in it.

    A more general question that your photo of the back made me think of....when you get your dress altered (this one or another one), do they make it all smaller, in proportion, so say if you are quite short, they don't just chop the bottom off so that you have a disproportionately short skirt to it?

    I like it, it looks lovely - I can see that it would hard to tell what it looks like in the right lenght for you though, has the dress shop been helpful in advising you if it's a style that will adapt well when shortened (iyswim)?
