My Dress *flash*

miss.understood, 27 October, 2010 at 14:08 Posted on Planning 0 27

Ok, the dress i'm having is by Forever Yours...I searched EVERYWHERE for this particular dress in black....and couldn't find it....so heres a picture of it as it appears in the catalogue....and then my photoshop version thanks to my friend Gex (Johnathon). I love it. it's simple, goth, and will look fabulous with the black satin bolero jacket i bought.

Dress £150 and got the jacket at a bargain for £30

Hi- I was just wondering where you bought your dress from as i haven't seen this dress any less than £190?! i didn't really want to pay that much but i'll stretch to £150.

    TIA

My dress is from a shop called Elles Bridal, in Morpeth Northumberland. However....there is a dress makers on ebay which does replica dresses, some have fantastic feedback and could well be worth a look (a lot of them are based in china, but as i say they do have a good feedback rating). I'm looking for the one that i was going to get a dress from, but can't remember her name....i'll put it on here if i manage to track her down. xx

    MrsLoftus2be - there's this one: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/1122net/Bridesmaid-Flower-girls-dress-/_i.html?_fsub=1241681013&_sid=149382563&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322

    or this one

    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/DRESSELICIOUS/BRIDESMAID-DRESSES-/_i.html?_fsub=1056796016&_sid=202650386&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322

    perhaps worth a look.

The shop i'm getting my dress from says the dress is generally £150, some other styles by forever yours are £160-£170. I don't know if she would order a dress in for you and ship it to you if you gave her your measurements, but if you want her number i can provide it to you?

WOW! That is not what I was expecting. It's really nice, and although me and OH are not alternative in anyway and so it wouldn't work as a wedding dress for me... I would wear that for a special ball anyday!!!

I hope you don't find this rude, but something VERY alternative (which would mean I don't like it), such as this dress below: Not that there is anything wrong with the dress below - it's just not me IYSWIM!

I've never been one for big dresses etc....actually me in a dress is a novelty in itself... if i did have a big huge alternative dress, along with all the alternative accessories....it'd be too much, i think a more elegant understated dress and fab hair extentions has more of an impact for me Smiley smile xxx

I can see what you mean with too much over the top - does your OH know anything about the dress? Any idea what he is expecting?

I did see the hair extentions - very cool!!

Yeah my OH knows everything about what i'll be wearing. He browsed the dresses with me on the internet (even offered opinions etc!) and then it was him who went to the bridal shop with me when i went to try on a few dresses. He knows the style, the colour and the make....even knows my accessories. He's not very good at putting things together to picture what it'll all look like on the day....but thankfully thats where my mind works very well lol. Bless him.

I've been married before, did everything by the book, but this time around....a lot of things are being done differently, like shopping for the dress etc....reasons: a) i've done it all before and did it by the book and it turned to sh*t! and b) it's 2010 lol xx

Hey miss.understood - I popped to Primark on my way into work this morning to pick up some stuff for wear it pink day tomorrow and noticed that they still have peacock-ish hair bits. I got one for a hen night recently and loved it, sorry, not a great photo but:

Just thinking if you needed anything for bridesmaids etc, theyre so nice and really cheap - mine is now acting as a curtain decoration but I will definitely wear it again!

thanks for that,....though i've gone even cheaper (that sounds bad!) i'm not having any bridesmaids at all lol. i have been married before and had 3 bridesmaids and 2 page boys.... and if i'm honest all they did all day was stand about and look pretty or cute. which wasn't much use to me at all. lol. so this time i'm going solo Smiley smile lovely accessory by the way Smiley smile xx
