My finished Brooch Bouquet...FLASH

Carpe Diem, 23 April, 2013 at 19:34 Posted on Planning 0 21

Yay its finished at last! Took ages but am very proud of it although its far from perfect! It includes brooches from my great Nan (they are over 100 yrs old) and my Nan who have both sadly passed away and my other Nan who is still with us. Was seriously hard work and wanted to throw it out the window many times but totally worth it! Is much more sparklier in real life, impossible to catch it in a photo!

Not sure why the photos have come out. With some sideways and upside down :-/

I absolutely love this! I have wanted one of these from the moment we got engaged (over 2 years ago!)

You have inspired me to have a go - let the brooch collecting commence!

Just out of interest, how long did it take you?

    Thank you :-)

nice to have some feedback as keeping it a surprise for everyone else! Hard to know how long it took as been doing a bit every evening but wiring one brooch easily took 15-20 minutes and putting them together took a couple of hours and the handle the same so a long time I would say!

Oh well done! The handle looks lovely! I think when you do brooch bouquets people don't think about the handle until later on, but actually it's really important to get it right, as it will be seen! I love the lace finish! :-)

Looks amazing!! I've been collecting brooches but a bit worried about the making part ? Just out of interest, how many brooches did you use for it?

Thank you everyone, didn't expect such. Lovely response :-)

I used 30 brooches, didn't pay much for them, obviously I had a few from family and the rest I bought from boot sales. Was lovely actually as they came from lovely old ladies who always had a story to tell me about them! I love that's its full of stories and memories.

I love brooch and button bouquets; as you say it's the history behind them that makes the bouquet sentimental and a very special part of your wedding day. Amazing job ?
