Hi everyone

I've been a lurker on here since I got engaged on Christmas Day 2012 but haven't really posted before. We've got quite a bit planned already for out May 2014 wedding.

Here is my venue, Glenmore House in Surbiton.

My Dress. Felicia by Amanda Wyatt

Table center pieces - my future step MIL is making a different one for each table. They will be on top of a pile of old vintage books.

The Invite (possibly), my other half is designing the invites and Save the Date

The cake - tower of cheese

Cake number 2 - This will be my birthday cake as we are getting married on my birthday

Our Colour is going to be a dark blue. I'm letting the bridesmaids choose their own dresses. They can be different styles and different blues if they want. We also have the tog booked who is the husband of a work colleague and the band (one of my bridesmaids is the lead singer).

Not much else to do right now. We are waiting until the 31st May this year to book the registrar as they won't let us book more than a year in advance and then we will send out the Save the Dates.

Oooh I love the cake!

Are the centerpieces made from specific books or just anything you can find? I love the idea of making origami flowers out of book pages, but I'm not sure I would be able to cut up my favourites!

Just using any hardback books we can find. I work in a college and found an old store cupboard with loads of old hardback English texts which I will use. But have also picked up some from charity shops. I quite like the idea of having quite random ones. My fiances step-mum is an art teacher and is making them for us (i'm useless at creative stuff).

It all looks fab, you've got a very clever H2b! I tried that dress on on Saturday and it was gorgeous - apparently it just won wedding dress of the year!

Thanks everyone. We didn't initially plan the wedding for my birthday, but our venue double booked us and my birthday was the only other suitable option. They are giving us the champagne reception for free as compensation so i'm too too fussed!

I love the center pieces idea. My step MIL to be has already made 2 and they are much nicer than the pic I posted (just a random one from the internet).

I had my eye on that dress for ages, but tried on loads of others first. Even though the sample size was way too small I knew I wanted it. Why do wedding dress shops have such small sample sizes? I'm a size 14 and 2 out of the 3 shops I went to didn't have a single wedding dress above a size 12 which is more like a size 10 on the high street.

Centre pieces are really lovely, planning looks great and there should never be a reason to forget your wedding anniversary!

I think your dress is stunning. I might be slightly biased though as I've chosen Felicia too! I fall a little bit more in love with it every time I see it.

Wow, I love the book centrepeices. I do work in a library though!

I was a bridesmaid at my friend's wedding last September. It was at Glenmore House and I thought the venue was beautiful!
