Ooooh, a fellow shropshire bride!! Where in the Shire are you from? The church is St. Mary's in Sutton Maddock & the hotel is the Wroxeter

We looked at Rowton Castle. It's beautiful but they didn't have the date we wanted & was slightly over budget too (which was kind of a blessing in disguise as we got a bargain package from our venue!) and we know 3 others who have married there in the last 12 months! Thought we'd better have somewhere different!! Jealous though it's like a fairy tale castle!!

No way! Small world! I lived in Newport with my parents until last October when I bought my own place with OH! I've probably seen you more than once!

Yeah, OH absolutely fell in love with it (it so far is the only part of the wedding he has absolutely gushed over! so we had to have it!) but we got an absolute bargain with it in our package, and a lot of other stuff was included so it has taken a lot of stress out of the planning. Plus, they had the exact date that we wanted (the date means a lot to us, so it seemed perfect to book our wedding on that day too!)

Gahh have been waiting for this thread! You already know my opinion on the dress and the shoes (WOBBLE!) but wowsers, look at that bridesmaid dress it is just beautiful. Wedding envy of huge proportions! And you are one month ahead of me - the jealousy continues x

We only booked in July so only 9 months of planning in total. Can't believe how fast the last three months have gone. I didn't think I was that ahead with the planning but seeing it all down in one place, I'm much more organised than I thought!!

Lol @ goldpants! In 6 months and a day, it will all be over & you will still have your big day to look forward to...then I shall be jealous!! x

Thanks! I was initially worried about not having a colour scheme but it seems to be working out ok. We seem to have somehow given our wedding a flower theme though...hopefully it'll all look ok together on the day! Thanks again for replies, I feel much more confident about some of our decisions now! (apart from the alpaca...he was always a no brainer!)
