My invite design so far *flash* and thank you Elizabeth for the inspiration!

Hi All,

I have started designing my invites and have made a couple of rough mock-ups, I wasn't entirely happy with my first attempt which was just a card type design, but I have now been inspired by Elizabeth and her amazing invitations! I have bought some pocketfold/wallet invites and have now started making one of these, OH and I much prefer it, in fact he is quite impressed, it's a work in progress and I haven't done any of the printing yet but am excited its going well so am flashing my first and second attempts. And I want to thank Elizabeth for the inspiration!

Effort number one (not so great)

Effort number two (I think it's improving!)

Number one mock up is really nice! Have to say I prefer that to Number two...

Can I give you some advice tho'? If you're going for that design with the ribbon, don't use Organza - its a shyte to try to fix - every little thing shows thru' it. If you use satin, you could maybe use a wider piece of silver satin ribbon, and the overlay the purple ... this would give it some depth across the middle... if you get the right width double sided sticky tape for both ribbon layers, you can fix the ribbon all the way round so avoid any 'dropping' ribbon in transit.

This would work really well with the overlays of purple/silver you have under the wedding banner... and then inside you can use the same overlays of silver and purple in your insert cards which is much nicer than just a plain piece of card - and PDA will cut your card to your specific sizes... They would also do the banner layers for you to your exact size, so you don't have to sit and cut out all those bits, and you will get a perfect true straight cut on all sides.

    Hope this helps!

I really like number 2 (well done you!) - only thing I would say is that I personally think the middle panel is a little too big and takes away the focus from the gorgeous patterned paper you're using, I'd make it a little smaller to make the invite speak for itself, but that's just me!

Well done for having the patience to make them yourself xxx

Thank you all! And thank you for the advice, I might look at making that centre piece smaller, I have quite enjoyed doing this! xx
