My little toe keeps growing

muffins, 6 July, 2010 at 23:26 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

My little toe keeps growing, about 6months ago I thought it looked a bit red, but as it was winter I wore socks unless in bed/shower so did not really look too hard.

It has however really changed shape and is about three times bigger than it was, it is not painful and I cannot recall any injury.

The toe nail has disappeared because it has bent over covers it.

I saw a chirropodist last week and she told me to see a doctor asap as soft tissue growth as significant as this needs a biopsy. I could not get an appointment until tomorrow and wondering what will happen or what it could be, I was not that worried till I saw the chirropodist but her reaction did alarm me.

just wondered if anyone had had to have a biopsy on a toe and how do they do it?

Thanks xx

Today I have had x-rays and a mri scan on my foot, the consultant does not know what it is but has booked surgery for 16th August to remove the soft tissue growth under general anaethestic, he said it was very unusual and interesting, I said I would rather it was boring and gone!!
