My new shellac nail colour...

*Ducky*, 15 April, 2012 at 13:41 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 11

I am tring to be a bit braver with my nails and I always play it safe. I have just bought a new shellac colour because my sister wants it for her nails, and my mum says is gross...

Introducing shellac Rubble:

What do you think? (My sister is WAY trendier than me by the way) I quite like it!

I like it! I'm not a bright nails type of gal, but this is definitely a colour that I would wear.

I like it. But then my default nail colour is black so I am a fan of darker shades.

Shellac is like a nail polish. I can be used on nail extensions, but I think is more popular on natural nails as it really strengthens them too which allows them to grow.

It's painted on like a polish, but it doesn't dry in air, you have to set it under a UV lamp. It's quite good because it means you can perfect the nail and make completely smooth before it you dry it. It's feels a bit thicker than normal polish, is super shiny, and won't chip for a good 10 days. Salons say it can last up to 3 weeks but mine look a bit shabby by then.

My friend at Uni was a trained beautician and she taught me how to do my own nails. I have her old lamp now and get most bits from eBay. Tis a bit naughty as only professionals are supposed to do it, and I have to REALLY concentrate to make my right hand look good, but it does save me £20+ a pop.

Quite like the colour! It looks like it would be one of those 'goes with everything' colours. Odd name though!
