Have you spoken to the venue to see how long they think dinner service and room change around will take?

From a togging point of view, timing looks sufficient. What usually speeds togging along is if you decide the group/family shots beforehand and have one of your groomsmen/bridesmaids held gather and coordinate.

Sounds good up until the wedding breakfast, 16.10 start and 17.30 finish doesn't seem long enough for 3 courses however it depends on a few things, guest numbers, style of meal and whether you want everything finished and cleared before starters or whether your happy for deserts to be eaten during speeches. Other than that sounds good x

20 minutes between guests leaving day room and fo rthe venue to prepare it to an evening room. at a friends recent wedding they allowed 40 mins for this, it took everyone about 5-10 mins to leave the room as people were stopping to chat to each other. the venue also then put out extra tables etc, so not only did they have to clear off the day ones they had to set more up with chairs and covers etc.

when we went back into the room 40mins later they were just finishing vaccuming the floor.

I would allow at least two hours for the wedding breakfast if not longer. Ours lasted three. Remember people are doing a lot of talking and you dont want guests to feel rushed. This should be the part of the day where people start to relax and enjoy themselves.

We have 2 different rooms for the wedding breakfast and evening reception. It is changeover for a few tables to be moved from dinner room to reception room and LED lights to be moved with all table centrepeices around the room.

The bar is also in a seperate area and we will all be there when changeover occurs, so if it is a little bit late shouldnt be a problem. I set myself for guests arriving 7 to 7.30pm so i think i will put a bit more time ont he set up. The reception room will already be set up and clean with DJ + lights etc.

Thanks for your advice Smiley smile

Looks VERY organised! A couple of points: -

1)Why are you allowing 25 minutes from announcing your entrance to the wedding breakfast to actually starting serving food? You've already allowed time for guests to go in and get seated, so what will you be doing in this time?

2)You don't need to specify times to serve starter, main and dessert - leave this up to your venue/caterers. Also, as others have said 1hr 20 mins is not that long to serve/eat a 3 course meal for large numbers of people - are you sure your venue are happy with this?

    3) 50 mins is quite a long time for speeches. I would aim to keep them under half an hour if possible.

    4) What will you be doing in the 45 minutes between the DJ starting and you doing your first dance?
