My poor doggy...............

HillierB2B, 28 April, 2009 at 20:25 Posted on Planning 0 19

Well just back from my nightly run (well fast/slow walk ?) with my dog to find he has sliced his paw open quite bad & i had to CARRY him home!!! He is a 10month old german shepard so not exactly light (but it looked like i had run for miles!) Took him to the surgery where he was given stitches and one of those bloody lampshades for him to wear ? i know i shouldnt laugh but i cant help it, he keeps bumping into things!

hehehehe x

It has to be the funniest thing i have ever seen! he tried to get through the kitchen door and the neckcone caught the side of the door to which he got very upset and started barking at it and tried to case it (?!?!?!)

should be 3-4 weeks before we can get out for a proper run so just have to be slow walks for next few weeks (to which i am relieved!!!)

Hi HillierB2B May I suggest you get some sea salt and soak his foot for 20 mins twice a day and use a baby sock to keep the dirt off, he will probably hate you for the lampshade!!! but I bet he looks so cute, can we really upset him and have a pic>> lol

Feel free to tell me to p off but I have 2 greyhounds and I very rarely have to take them the vets for anything, my medi cupboard contains sea salt, clean duvet, Syringes, rescue remedy and a quiet corner for them, I have some very nasty injuries here lol

AAwwwww poor puppy baby boy! I have an 18month old male german shepherd and he is 6.5 stone of muscle so I am really feeling for you having to carry him. It is hilarious when they wear the lampshade- mine ended up walking backwards aroun the house so that he didn't bump into things!-good luck

That's Disgusting, They complain about dog mess (which we clean up) but not about things that are actually dangerous!

One day I was walking my 2 nutters ahhhem GREYHOUNDS lol and my big fella (32" at shoulder) slipped and sliced his belly on a bit of glass ? so I obviously complained and the council said...................................................................................

It's not our problem you should be aware of where your dogs are walking at all times ???
unfortunately the little guy is never gonna win ?

Aw, your poorly pup! Must have been really heavy! Hope that he gets better soon and the lampshade doesn't have to stay on for too long.

DISASTER! Just had him back to the vet as he got his neckcone off and pulled all the stitches out!!!!! [:'(] he has not got staples & a stookie lol

i was in the shower and h2b was in bed and we heard him yelp and found him on the livingroom floor covered in blood

h2b took him back as i had to stay with the kids but he is back now. i just feel really bad!!! ☹️

Jennie i know we will get some smart arse comment from the council but im just worried it could happen to someone elses dog or god forbit their kids. x

Ok So the first thing is It's NOT your fault, Dogs are like babies (i.e DUMASS) they are going to pick and nibble and even bite themselves cos it itches

Is there anything that he really won't eat?????? Puree it and slaver it all over the bandages, It will drive him nuts but he won't touch the stitches!!

Do you really think the council gives a sh1t even if it is one child or 20 children??????
Dog poo has been proven to make children blind and that's all over the streets!

Sorry for being a pessimist, I'm sick of being persecuted for having 2 big dogs ON LEAD!!!!!! (don't get me started on that one lol)

He hates butter! will that be ok to put on his bandages jennie??

i know what you mean about the council & i understand that ppl with dogs are targets like you said - like with the dog poo.

at the park where me & lennox socialise lol there is a whippit called tiny lol he is huuuggggeeee but his owner was telling me he had a council member from the animal control unit as ppl FEARED this dog coz of his size. Now during the day i take my children with me (2yrs & 10 months) and he is a gentle giant, my kids love him

Yup If you melt the butter in the micro and then give the top 2 layers good lashings of it but being careful not to let it touch his wound he will leave it be!

    Scared of a whippet [:'(] That's awful
But I get that everywhere, Mine ate Greys and stand 27" and 32" at shoulder and it (Expletives deleted) annoys me, they are so soft it's ridiculous

here's my photobucket, most of them are my doggies and I spend my life pi55ed off cos they are big and vicious (sp?) HONEST

Oh yeah, I've been there, used to go in the summer months when I was skiving, ahem I mean revising! Is it bad for broken glass? It's totally awful, I agree that you should complain to the council but your right in that they'll likely do jack about it.

I hope he gets better soon as is back out running again x (Im sure he'll make the most of the attention though!)

Awww poor wee Lennox...I am a BIG lover of dogs, wouldn't be without one and talk to me own like she's a baby, she got a bath last week and was shivering so I got my wee bro to bring his duvet down and wrapped her up so she was nice and cosy ?

Hope he starts to feel better soon...he's gonna get soooo spoilt ?
