Oh Peaches, I am so sorry. We found out a couple of weeks ago that OH's step-dad has got it in his liver so I kind of know how you're feeling.

I'm not sure what the prognosis is. I don't think she knows herself as today is her last radiotherapy treatment, and then they'll see from there. She told Mum that if they operate she could end up paralysed due to the proximity of the tumour.

I've not been able to bring myself to ring Mum and talk about it. Not just yet. I'm still finding it all very tough with my brother as it is ..

Aw hell, Peaches, I thought surely you've had more than your fair share of grief? I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. Have they said what the prognosis is? Send big cyber hugs to you. Fat lot of good they'll do, but I'm still sending them ....

It just seems to be one thing after another.

It's also got me thinking about genetics. My sister is my half sister - we both have the same Dad. This is the first time I'm aware of cancer on his side. My Mum's father died of it and my Mum has been riddled with it over the years, but fought back. When I was doing my CPCAB training, one of the things that came up was genetic counselling. Perhaps I should investigate further?

It's our 5th wedding anniversary this weekend and we're due to go away to a spa to fully relax. We were both really looking forward to it, but now I just feel totally and utterly awful. Can't describe the feeling.

I've not spoken to my sister much since Dad died as it all got very nasty over his will. She completely went nuts along with her brother (my half brother, not the one I've recently been talking about) and they were attacking my Mum over what they believed was their inheritance. I'm not quite sure how to handle this now. It's all such a mess.

I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do Mrs M. We were extremely close when I was young. In fact, she was my 'Mum' right up until I was 4 when she left home to join her real Mum in Australia. She was 16 at the time, and our bond was really strong. Now, after all the will fiasco and the way she and her (our) brother acted before and after the funeral, it's left a bitter taste.

Gah. She doesn't deserve this though.
