My sweetie table

Cilla, 1 November, 2011 at 15:58 Posted on Planning 0 14

I've just set up my sweet table and I'd like honest opinions about it please. My colours are orange, ivory and green and I'm finding that combination of colours so easy to get horribly wrong, but when they're right they're lovely together (I think)

What do you think? Do the ribbons look a bit twee or does it look ok?

Here's a mood board stolen from the internet to show you the colours done well together to give you an idea of what I'm aiming for

The letters I got from an ebay seller called wooden letters world. They have a website also

I'm not sure about sweets yet, I can't decide whether to try to match the colour scheme or just have a load of retro types regardless of colour.

I love it the ribbons look fab, love the frame and letters too and you haven't got OTT with the colours which keeps it looking nice and not in your face. I was thinking about colour co ordinating the sweets too but I think it'll look better just a loads of different retro sweets as in my opinion sometimes things can be too coordinated (but that's just my opinion) xx

Looks ace, wish id had enough money left to have a sweetie table. i think the love is sweet letters are lovely and definitely do a mix of sweets. you are limiting what sweets you can have if you stick to the colour scheme

Thanks everyone. I think you're right, I'll have a mix of sweets. Sticking to colours would limit what we could have as well as possibly look a little overdone

I have only four words to describe this:-

    YOUR SWEETIE TABLE ROCKS!

I would LOVE one of these, but a lot of my H2B family have diabetes, so bang goes that idea ☹️

Aw thanks Claire!! I'd suggest sugar free sweets but they can have a laxative effect right? That could be a disaster in the making for your reception ?

I read this post last night and then spent the night dreaming about our sweetie table and whether we had the right sweets and then getting in a right huff because the venue had mucked it up and I had to go to the cash and carry in my wedding dress to get nore sweets! Have to say, I was glad to be dreaming about wedding related stress rather than work related stress for once!

I think it looks lovely. We were just going to be using Cadburys purple coloured ribbon round ours, but seeing the different coloured ribbons on yours make me think we should mix up the shades of purple a bit. I also need to persuade OH that we need one of those 'love is sweet' signs!
