Originally getting married by beach we were having a vintage seaside themed wedding, location changed and theme became vintage shabby chic, all roses and lace, birdcages and hearts, but as I wanted something unusual and couldnt get seaside theme out my head we decided to do vintage traditional for day and kind of got seaside theme in thier for evening with ice cream cart, candy stripped sweet cart and a few other seaside elements so them is now vintage seaside shabby chic romance but hoping it all still kind of fits!!! lol

As long as you love it that is all that matters!

Sounds perfect to me... Were having the whole shabby chic/vintage thing too... Were having a garden party at home, we've got a marquee and Ive been busy making bunting to decorate, with birdcages, hearts and glass jars with candles...

Just love it all... plus I live on the south coast so we could also include the sea somewhere!!

Sounds great!!! Don't think you need to stick to one theme and mixing themes makes it more unique - my theme is 'whatever I like the look of an is a bargain' and hope for the best nobody notices nothing matches on the day ?

I think it sounds fabulous!!!!!!!! I'm probably a little biased though because I have a very similar theme. I can't wait to see flashes of everything coming together

Sounds lovely to me! I'm yet to attend a wedding and hear people talking about the theme not all matching so think we'll all be fine?

I have more of an issue with things being too matchy-matchy. My sil's theme was a weird metallic navy blue colour, even down to the cupcake icing. 3 years later my kids are still bouncing off the walls from whatever food colour they used to achieve that!

This is exactly what started my mis-matched theme!!! That and the fact I'm not very good at making decisions and keep buying random stuff without actually thinking it through!!! I have colours but they're purples, blues and silver and any shade goes. I'm sure I'll add more colours as I'm going along as I quite fancy having dark green bridesmaid dresses!!

LOVE the sound of the effects cupcake icing!!! I could do with some of that when I need an extra energy boost!

wish I'd eaten a few of them now!

I am the same with decision making so mis-matched works a treat for me. Well, it did right up until the bridal shop lady handed me a swatch of the sash on my dress.... and asked if it was the same shade as any of the pinks on my bridesmaids dresses... which of course it wasn't.... and then offered to make cravats in the same fabric.... and now I'm stressed with matchy matchy mis-matched pink!!! Swatches are evil!

Oh no!!!Just pretend you're going for two shades of pink - find something that matches the pink of the bridesmaid dress and throw it somewhere!!! The wedding planning process has made me realise I'm not very good at working out what colour things are....I picked out a bridesmaid dress in a shop and said to my mum 'this is the kind of silver I was looking for' and she had to explain to me it was brown....once she'd pointed it out it was obvious but it looked like a graphite/silver to me! Haha!

lol @ brown! it's ok, I may not match my bridesmaids... but I do match my jam jars. And my bridesmaids match the other jam jars. So, in theory, we all match! But none of us are quite the same shade of pink as the camper van. And the cravats will be blue, but probably a different shade of blue to the bridesmaids and the chair sashes. It works for me but the bridal shop lady and her swatches would probably have a fit.

It's funny the things you suddenly have to worry about when you're planning a wedding - if you had told me last year that I would have lost sleep thinking about whether navy blue comes in different shades or not, I would have thought you were crazy!

So long as you have plenty of time to sort everything and don't stress yourself out setting it up, why not?
