My venture into cake jewellery - with flash!

Sergzy, 10 September, 2010 at 15:38 Posted on Planning 0 9

I've had another productive day, and after six hours of work I have finished my cake jewellery (subject to OH's approval). I just wanted to flash to share it!!!!! Apologies for the dodgy carboard cake which makes it hard to see, and the bedroom in the background, but hopefully you can get the idea!

Oh very pretty! Well done! That must have taken some patience to put together.

I like the dodgy cardboard cake - very ingenious!

Bet your fingers are sore now!!

Should look fab on your cake for real - what is the wire decoration attached to? It looks yellow in the photos? Is it thick yellow wire?

Yes, the thick bits are thick gold wire. Unfortunately, it is a different shade of gold to the thin wire ☹️

Looks great, well done. Have you got a cake spike for all the wires to go into so the cake isn't in contact with the metal? If you don't already have them you can buy them from ebay. x

Lynsey, I do have a cake spike, and the oasis fix to hold the wires in place in the spike! That's what it's in now, the cake lady just needs to lift it out of the model cake, and put it into the real one (fingers crossed!).
