My very first car

I remember that feeling...... i only had my licence a few months when I got a new car and I love it but hubbys talking about selling it to get me a younger model lol

I've only had my licence for 14 months so im a newbie...

why dont you just have a few wee jaunts around the block first??

Well when i pick it up thursday ive got drive it home on my own just a bit worried because i wont know where i am cus ive got get it from somewhere i dont know but i might leave for work early on friday and have a bit of a drive round try get use to it

Get your dad to take you there and then follow him home?

as a female id never go and collect a car on my own, no way.

Which I am going to have to give up soon after 4.5 years as it does not have enough seats!!!!

The day I passed my driving test (back in 2000) my Dad got me to drive his car...

Never again!!!! The gearstick came out of the front of the dashboard!!!!!

My first car for learning in was a cietento, in bright yellow...... but we ended up selling that when it became clear that manual wasnt for me.

I then got a corsa automatic which I was taught in, saved money on the driving lessons there coz it was my own car....

then i got my limited edition clio, had to buy from england and have it brought up as automatics are like hens teeth up here...

My dad use to have a 2cv we called it mr noisey lol

My dad is taking me picking it up but i'll have to drive it home after oh well suppose i'l have to get use to it some day

We share our cars, first car was a ford escort which i wrote off within 8 weeks of passing my test opps (to be fair some old woman ran my into a ditch)

2nd car was a fiat bravo which leaked when it rained had to keep beach towels in the boot so my bum didnt get wet on the way to work

the fiat was wrote off in august cos some wee idiots thought it would be a laugh to wreck the locks with a screwdriver or something 1000 worth of damage!

but now have a wee 08 plate fiesta which i love so many gadgets

Mrs C - My first car was a Cinquecento!! White M reg!! ? I ❤️d it!!!! Bought it myself aged 19 (passed test at 17).

1st (1996) - Fiat Cinquecento - White - M840 SJA (Sammy)

2nd (1997?) - Rover 100, Kensington - Kingfisher Blue - N843 WOK (Kenny)

3rd (2003) - Ford Escort - Green - M851 BTL (Eddie)

4th (2006) - Ford Mondeo - Red - 51 reg (Marvin)

Before I got my own car I used to drive my Dad's - a huge old Ford Cortina - W reg, the first time round!! ?

My first car was also a KA i got it in 2003 it was an R reg one in that purpley colour

my 2nd was a Toyota Yaris it was dark blue 1.3l engine 54 plate so i guess i got it at the end of 2004 early 2005

my 3rd was another Toyota Yaris it was bright red with a 1.8l engine it was 07 plate and i got it in the early part of 2007

my 4th is a Vauxhall Zafira brand new i've only had it since June

before my car i used to drive Mr S's cars. There was a break between no 3 and no 4 which was fine by me as I got to drive the BMW 3 series all the time. We still have that car but the Zaf is easier with 2 children and a tonne of stuff!

Well i picked it up last night and i love my little KAsandra already lol

I've only been driving for a couple of years.... decided to learn after I had my son, and found that the first time I went out in the car, I was absolutely bricking it..... it was h2b's and we hadn't had it that long.... needless to say, Sabrina (the car) came back after her first test drive with me as pilot without a scratch on her..... and the rest they say is history lol....

You will be fine, just take it easy and remember that gaining experience takes time. Maybe you could get a friend or your dad to sit in with you for the first few trips ?

My first car had very dodgy brakes and used to brake down all the time, I'm sure your KA will be super !
