My wedding DJ will play background music for free at the Wedding breakfast, what do you think?

Wedding Time, 4 December, 2011 at 14:37 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hi, we have looked at these guys who are very popular locally, I have been to a few weddings where they have played, a nice touch is they will play the background music softly at the wedding breakfast, and then supply PA / mike for speeches. What do you think of the suggestion, they are called https://www.heartandsouldisco.co.uk/.

Someone suggested a saxophonist but its so expensive and thats got to be too loud for a wedding breakfast?

A friend had no music bit it was a large venue and a bit quiete at times when actually eating.

As a saxophonist, I just wanted to say about the 'too loud for a wedding breakfast' part! The wedding breakfast is the part of the day which people book me the most for weddings, volume can be adjusted to suit whatever size room and amount of people there are, so I don't think volume should be taken into consideration as any good musician can perform to your requirements :-). At the end of the day you need to choose what you love the most, whether it be an individual musician, a band or just your background music from the DJ as this is your special day.

I've not heard of this company before (and I know many DJ's).

Checking their websites, the "Heart and Soul Disco" domain was registered in Aug 2011 and the website listed was registered in Nov 2011.

The websites have all be recently added to online directories - so another sign its a new company.

If they are a brand new company, I would be nervous about hiring the without more information.

How many years of experience do they have? As their website has only been live for a few weeks, I can hardly see how they are popular?

Many venues have their own basic PA for background music. I offer this as a service, but are normally hired when the venue does not have their own system (or the client want's a more personal service).

So, Wedding Time - I would suggest looking at the more experienced Wedding DJ's for your Wedding, unless you have more information on the company you've found.

A quality DJ company in your area would be https://ianforest.com/

Ian and his team will do a great job.

Hi website looks good but I would always prefer to use somebody that I have seen in action so to speak! The DJ we have booked played at my friends wedding last year and was FAB! The dance floor was full all night and if a song hadn't gone very well he mixed in a different song - brilliant.

PS whereabouts in sussex are you as I too am from the lovely county Smiley laugh?

If you want a saxophonist it often works well with keyboards as a duo. I recently played a reception in the afternoon and guests said the volume was perfect with no PA just live and the room we were in worked perfectly with the sound. Give it a try Smiley smile
