My Wedding invitations *Flash*

Bittersweet, 6 January, 2012 at 20:31 Posted on Planning 0 10

Spurred on by looking at BV's beautiful invitations, I have finally finished putting mine together. It has taken what seems like an eternity to make mine from scratch but this is the final creation. At least my bows have got better since the first one I tried and I managed to get the inserts the same size!!

Im not at all creative really. I work with children so a stickman is usually all I can muster! With a little help from a fab hitcher at the beginning this is the final result. It has saved me soo much money. I think for around 38 day invitations and 30 evening, it has cost around £50, inclusive of ribbon, card, envelopes. diamates(Sp) and ink. Much less than I would have paid for someone else to do them for me.

Well done! They're wonderful Smiley smile I love the colours!

You are right though bows/knots are really hard to get right! I had to undo all my invitations to number the reply cards (in case people like my nan forget to write their names on!!) and doing them all up neatly again was a complete pain in the butt! I couldn't get the ribbon to lie flat at all!

I watched a YouTube tutorial on how to tie them over and over, Pausing it as I completed each step. Towards about the 10th one I was getting pretty quick at them! I had to secure the strip of ribbon at the back with a glue dot first though!
