So a whole month off work has passed in the blink of an eye, we had the most amazing Wedding day! Before I got married I was already looking forward to sharing my report with you guys, so here goes...
I met OH when I was in college - he was 16 and I was 17 in the year above, his best friends were twins that were one of my guy friends younger brothers so when I saw them on a girls night out in Manchester they introduced us. We danced and snogged on the dancefloor to a Busta Rhymes song, and have been inseperable ever since! We moved in together in 2008, and OH popped the question in front of both our families on Christmas day 2010. I think he thought we would be engaged for another 8 years but I definitely had other ideas. Roll on 18 months and we have arrived at the run up to our wedding day.
The Week before;
We both finished work on the Friday, a full week and a day before the wedding. OH's Dad lives in California and had not been to the UK in over 12 years. To say OH was excited to see him was an understatement! We prepped our house for our visitor, who arrived the Monday before the big day. It was so nice for OH to take his Dad around and about, showing him how much the city has changed. Plus, it gave me chance to have a peaceful house to finish my many DIY projects!
It was a nice chilled out week, filled with nice lunches, hair and nail appointments, and I was able to take my time making our wedding cake. Everything ran very smoothly, which is surprising as I am usually on the last minute for everything! OH's Mum took me to her nail salon and treated me to shellac gel nails and twinkle toes, and the lovely girls there had bought bucks fizz and cupcakes along with a card for us - I was so touched as I had never even met them before.
Friday 14th, The day before;
Both our families rallied around to help pack everything up and take to the venue, including all 6 tiers of the cake packed in seperate boxes- we must have been driving 40mph on the motorway! I was able to set it up in a cool room at the venue and was really chuffed with how it turned out. We then nipped back home to pick up the dress and all the other bits for the hotel, said goodbye to the OH and the groomsmen, and along with my mum, OH's mum, my sister, cousin and best friend who were my BM's we made our way back to the hotel to get ready for a girlie meal.
I gave my BM's there gifts before we headed out, and they loved them! The BM bags went down a storm, and they all wanted to wear their bracelets that evening! (My mum wouldn't allow it, haha) We ate at Wagamama's which was delish! We had a couple of glasses of wine, then a Baileys nightcap at the hotel bar before we retired to get some beaty sleep. OH had text me saying he was so excited, and that he would be waiting at the end of the aisle tomorrow.
