**** My wedding Report - Agentblackcat 9th July 2011 ***

Friday 8th July - Got up had breakfast and went to collect my wedding cake. Had to balance it in the back of Mums car which was a nightmare, it was beautiful though and made by a friend of my mums. Dropped cake of at venue and then went to get nails, toe nails and eyelashes. On way home dropped off more stuff at venue, there was a wedding on it was 5ish and just got me very excited when I realised this time tomorrow I will be married and getting ready for wedding breakfast

Got home and OH arrived to collect car, he needed it for wedding, so we went to collect my Dad from the local, ended up staying there for a while and having a good giggle with dads old mates who had a few too many in celebration for next day. Ended up getting a Chinese and watching DVDs with Mum and Dad that night. Finally got to bed about 12 sleeping for 1.

Saturday 9th July - My Wedding Day ?

Woke up at 7.30, very surprised as I had slept all night, right the way through. Got up and dressed had a quick bite to eat and headed off to hairdresser. Felt very calm.

Got to the hairdresser and met Bridesmaid (OH’s sister) she was uber excited and kept saying how she could not believe how calm I was. Was a good laugh at the hairdresser especially when Mum got up and did a Beauty School Drop impression (Grease) complete with rollers and hairdresser gown. Some odd looks from other customers lol. Had a freaky moment when our first dance song came on radio – not heard it on radio for years Aerosmith Don’t want to miss a thing – it put a smile on my face. Finally finished at hairdresser popped into tesco for a few supplies and headed home.

Got home to be met by Makeup artist, and dad making bacon rolls. Makeup artist got started on Bridesmaid whilst I relaxed on sofa watching old friends episodes. Had my Mum then down in a panic as she could not find her cat (she is 19 and very frail and is an indoor cat now) so go up to help her , I’m under the bed in cupboards everywhere but can’t find her, I start thinking she had gone into a corner to die on my wedding day, but still could not find her. Finally 30 mins later it finally dawned on me that I saw her downstairs in hall when Makeup artist arrived – opened front door and there she was sitting on the doorstep – she had been shut out poor thingL Never mind panic was over and it was time for mum to get done.

Next thing I knew it was my turn for makeup, and Chris our tog had arrived. As he arrived so did the Rain. Time really does fly. He came in buzzing; admitted having a can of red bull on way over and you could tell he was hilarious. He started taking pics and i still was calm drinking my pink champers

Soon it was 1.20 I was not in my dress, tog and mum were leaving at 1.30 for venue. So mum went to get dressed leaving me with bridesmaid to get dressed, lucky makeup artist was still there she was a great help doing all my buttons up.

Then my brother, wife and bridesmaids OH and flowers girls arrived to pick up Mum and bridesmaid and they left leaving just me and dad. I realised that I must stop drinking anything as I did not fancy trying the toilets in the castle lol.

As we were waiting for car people were beginning to arrive at castle and OH got some pics done too He especially loves the one with his pride and joy - his bike

15 minutes later my uncle arrived with wedding car, and rain stopped but ground was soaked, so it was a hitch up the dress job and plenty of jokes from me about how I should have had wellies. Get in car and begin short drive – 3 miles - sun is out and it’s beautiful some neighbours come out to wave which is nice.

Arrive at venue to see some girls from my work, as car stops rain comes on heavy Chris gets a few shots. Then it was a case of run through the ruins of castle and avoid the puddles. I kept getting a row for leaving piper behind lol.

Finally meet celebrant at top of stair. At this point still no roof on castle but had to stop here – only part with roof is ceremony room. She quickly checks I am ready and says the order of walking down aisle. At this point older flower girl (OH daughter) tries to grip younger ones hand (my niece)and she goes to cry, then piper starts up and its really loud she just looks at him and I think oh no she is going to scream but no she turns around and waves and says bye bye, and tots of down the aisle – I could not stop laughing, my face began to shake as they entered room but then stopped, Bridesmaid went in and then we did, as I got in I let my dress down which had still been hitched up and a flower came out of my corsage which set me off giggling again. Lol, walked down the aisle and still felt ok.

I got down to the bottom of the aisle and saw my OH he looked so handsome, at this my jaw began to shake, but managed to stop it. The service was lovely and My OH was in near tears lol – which he said he won’t be. During the service my flower on corsage popped off again and hit my OH which was hilarious and really broke the ice, after this I giggled a lot through service, Mum afterwards said she was laughing with me. OH also said OMG your dress is gorgeous but it’s so big – meaning my train lol. My Brother did a lovely reading which was fab.

I cried just a tiny bit at the moment where you described your other half seeing you for the first time....but I am currently knee deep in wedding stuff and 15 days away from my wedding so emotionally I am pretty much a wreck and just teared up at a specsavers advert!!! LOL!!

The castle is stunning, wow wow wow at that you going up the steps photo!!

More more please!! Really love your dress, helps that mine is very similar! Lovely to see a finished product as it were with similar dress!

After service we signed register and had lots of photos taken, we walked down aisle but I refused to go back out the way I came in as it was so wet so we went back up aisle and down inner stairs which are indoors. We had a drinks reception on the lawn/barn as rain was on and off, in-between we got pics taken. It was a shame it rained so much as we missed out on pics within the ruins due to this, but never mind.

Fab report and loving seeing all the pictures. You look stunning, loving the bolero and your hair especially!

P.S. What are those white and pink flowers that you have a pic of? (not the lilys the other photo). Are they Dahlias? I LOVE them.

Drinks reception was great and everyone really mingled soon it was time to head to hotel. My Uncle was driving so slow on way there, OH was giggling but Uncle was oblivious lol. Got to hotel and it was time for wedding breakfast, speeches were first and My Dads was so funny, he had printed pics on the back of his cards.

OH did an amazing job thanking everyone and his Best man did a super job too, but nearly had me in tears with the nice things he said. The dinner was delicious and I am so glad I made goody bags for the kids they were completely entertained the whole time.

After dinner we had more pics taken and finally the sun was out showing off our super hotel, which has wall to ceiling glass showing off spectacular views across the forth to Edinburgh. Unfortunately OH’s kids got picked up super early 7.30 instead of 9 as agreed no idea why but OH was a little upset as he wanted to dance with kids☹️

Evening guests had all arrived by the time our pics were finished and we went straight to cut cake. Cutting cake was hilarious OH was insisting he wanted to cut the cake up and I had to explain that he was not to do this lol – After that it was straight into first dance, for me this was the worst part of the day, dunno why but just felt like too much attention on us etc. Soon though we were joined on dance floor and it was better.

The wedding reception was excellent with some many people to get around. The buffet was fish and chips in cones that went down a storm as did wedding cake.

Overall the day went by like a flash, one minute it was 7 am next it was 1 am. I enjoyed every second and even the rain did not spoil it ?

After guest left we had a few drinks with my parents in their room and finally went to bed about 3am. Honeymoon suite was amazing. Next day we visited a few family members and headed off to airport hotel for honeymoon on Monday.Might do a honeymoon flash later xx

I don't know what the flowers are - my Gran did all the ceremony flowers - maybe another hitcher will come along and reveal all xx To be honest they will be something simple that are from garden centre as they were potted
