Thought I'd better try and get this posted before I disappear for two weeks!!
Starting with some N&P and N&S
N&P Sherrie at Aisle be Yours, the flowers were fantastic, had so many comments on how lovely they were, thank you so much!
N&P Wynne Jones, Capture It videos. He was fantastic from the first time I called him, nothing was too muc trouble. He even videoed the rehearsl for us and got all our DVDs to us on the monday straight after the wedding (he was up until 1:30 am just to make sure we had it wit enough time to watch before the hm). I'm so glad we booked him, can't sing his praises enough. For those of you who are friends with me on fb there is a tastr video on there runnng at just under 3 minutes!
N&P Phil Collins Bridalwear who sorted all the problems created when the shop I bought my dress from went bust and provided a really beautiful dress ?
N&P Pretty Little Things stationery who made all our table numbers and oos cards which I only ordered a month before the wedding, they arrived during the week before so a bit hairy but they were really lovely
N&P Wilsons Butcher, Leeds who made us a pork pie cake that went down VERY well, shipped to the venue 2 days before and tasted great!
And so many more, Taylored Cakes Shrewsbury (still eating chocolate cake and it's still good now!!); Hadley Park House who were just amazing and totally dependable; Silverline Cars at Wem who were totally professional even when one of our cars broke down on the day; Ken @ Storybook photography who went above and beyond what we expected!
Just the one N&S Starstruck Designs by DM sttionery company who let us down very badly
Now for the actual report!
Finished work on the Thursday and had the rehearsal Thursday evening. Walking into the church that night I had my first nervous/excited butterflies. That was when it really hit me that this was actually happening. Then everyone came back to our house for fish and chips and we gave our bms, ushers and dads teir presents.
Friday morning got up quite early as we ad so much to do. We had a phone call at 8:30 to say my shoes had arrived so we started the day by going to pick them up then off into town for the last few bits and pieces that we needed. After that we went up and sorted the decorations for the church and left ll the OOS cards and a big box of umbrellas just in case! After a quick lunch we then headed out to the hotel to set up everything nd sort the final arranements. Had a phone call while we were en route to say one of our guests was ill and wouldnt be able to come but we called one of our evening guests who was only too happy to take their place! When we got back home I had a phone call from my brother to say he'd found me a car to get P to the church in (we were originally going to be using my brother's classic corvette but it had been bumped while in the garge and the company said they weren't paying for it so it was impounded at the bodyshop while there was still a dispute). e picked me up and took me to see it, a 1963 Buick LeSabre, absolutely beautiful and because he'd heard all about my brothers car he gave us a massive discount and only charged £60!!! Then it was back home, a quick bite to eat and too soon it was time for P to go to his mums. I took him round there with all his things and when I came back one of my friends and the beautician were waiting, we were both having our nails done. they stayed until about 10 and we had a lovely girly evening then I jumped in the bath and organised my bag and things for Saturday and before I knew it it was past midnight so I took myself off to bed.
Saturday morning, I was so excited I woke up at ten to seven even though I could have stayed in bed for another hour. As soon as I opened my eyes I just knew it was sunny. I couldnt get back to sleep so went to pick up my breakfast early. Massive sandwich from the local truckstop cafe. I put my favourite party cd on when I got in and sat in my kitchen bpping on my chair while eating breakfast lol. Then I had loads of time before the makeup lady was due so I just sat oh so calm and read for an hour! The makeup lady was stuck in traffic so the hairdresser beat her here at 10:15 and got to work straight away to put my curls in. The makeup lady arrived at 10:30 and made a star on Ps mum then one of my bms who arrived shortly after. THen it was my turn while the hairdresser took Ps mum home to put in her fascinator and give my curls some time to set. The rest of my bms followed pretty quicky and all had their make up done and got themselves dressed while I was having my hair finished.
All of a sudden it was time to get me into my dress. I ran upstairs and got into my underwear and hoop and then the hairdresser and one of my bms came up to help me into my dress. Once I'd made my way downstairs I put all my jewellery on and the hairdresser and makeup lady laced me up even tighter. The FG arrived with her mum while we were sorting all this so I just sent them up to where the dress was hanging. My mum and dad arrived at about ten to one, just in time t have a glass of wine before the cars arrived at 1. All the bms, fg and my mum piled into the car and went on to the church then the hairdresser went on t the church with her comb and spray in case I needed a touch up when I got there!
I was all ready so my dad and I sat in the kitchen and had another glass of wine (well what else were we going to do??lol) until I decided i needed the loo. This is no easy feat but somehow I managed it te right way round and all by myself. Then at 1:20 it was time to go and get in the car. The journey to the church was really quick and we managed to arrive early. So had a few quick pics and the next thing I knew I was walking up the aisle (still early!!)
Had a bit of a hairy moment approaching the altar where my dress went under my feet but luckily I stayed standing. The ceremony seemed to go really fast. My brother did a reading for us but he'd printed it off an email i sent him and half of it had been cut off. THey discovered this before the ceremony and the vicar lent him a bible. Unfortunately there were several bookmarks and my poor brother spent a few minutes staring at a page from exodus and wondering where the reading (from 1 John) ad disappeared to!! luckily the vicar rescued him and everyone laughed. They also played the wrong version of our second hymn but that didnt seem too major...
The rest of the afternoon just passed in a blur of photos until we got to sit down for the wedding breakfast. The food was fantastic, people were coming up to me all evening saying how much of a good time they were having and wasnt the food fantastic! The speeches were really good as well. P had everyone in stitches and the sweepstake that we ran went down really well with the guests. Before we knew it it was time to move across to the other suite for the evening party. I had to change my shoes first as my feet were killing me!! My mum and Ps dad had both had to run out so we asked the dj to postpone the first dance until they came back. But then the tog and vog asked us to go outside to do some more shots in te evening light around te grounds. It was so nice to have a bit of quiet time away from the mayhem.
Before we did the first dance we cut our pork pie cake (in addition to the normal one we cut during the meal) then soon after we had first dibs at the bbq. We got to eat outside as it was still really nice out then I spent all evening mingling and chatting with the guests, we only managed the first and last dances! Bt it was an amazing day and we went for a bat at the end of the evening and stayed up opening our cards until 3am!! We were still up in time to have breakfast with all our guests tho.
It really was the most amazing day and it really does just fly by!!
We're off on honeymoon on Sunday and I just cant wait. Good luck to all the b2bs who get married while Im away, make the most of every second!
