Nail varnish help!

icklesal, 15 June, 2014 at 17:34 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 11

Heading on holiday on Wednesday, to ibiza. I really want my nails to look nice for a chance and so I've sorted so nice manicure stuff and some nice colours. I was just wondering if anyone knows of some kind of top coat or something that will give a similar shine and lasting effect that a gel overlay would? I don't have time to get them done professionally as I can't have them done for work and I'm working until tues evening. Hopefully someone can help, please?

Thank you, will head to boots in my lunch tomorrow. I'd love to have my nails done all the time, stupid work rules.

I also don't get one with the Sally Hansen ones.

I've got a Maybelline one that cost me about a fiver, it's excellent. I can go a week with no chips. It's the forever strong super stay one. I also really rate their colourshow nail varnish. Really hard wearing and about £3 a pot. They do loads of colours and sell it in Tesco and Morrisons

Another vote for Kensington Caviar by Nails inc. If you do a 'proper' manicure, base coat, 3 coats of colour, top coat etc nails inc lasts a good week. You can get a 2 pack of kensington caviar base and top coat in boots in the special nail section with all the treatments and falsies.

I don't get on with Sally Hansen either. I'm using Essie topcoat and it's the best I've used so far. I'm not really a big fan of Nails Inc nail varnishes but I've never used their top coat so can't comment on that. My mum swears by OPI.

I really rate Barry M top coat/base coat/nail hardener (all in one). It's brilliant and only £2.99. I can go over a week with no chips.

I'm all sorted, thank you all. Just finished painting my nails, now I just have to find the patience to sit and let them dry ?
