Name needed for business -anyone feeling creative?

gnomette, 1 July, 2008 at 15:09 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 7

We're setting up a stud farm breeding dressage horses (they are the boring ones that don't jump but do a display to music) and need to come up with a name for the stud. We can't name the stud after the farm as there is a stud called that in Devon already.

To give you something to start with:

  • the horses are all German bred
  • a lot of them have Australian names as H and I have a lot of ties there.
  • we are based in Kent.

If anyone wants more specific info feel free to pm me. Any inspiration would be great as I'm not feeling creative at all!

I know, I know, but when I explain to people what it is they usually either don't know what it is or say oh yeah the boring one. Each to their own though, lets face it we haven't exactly made it a must see spectator sport over here and I can see that to those who have little or no knowlegde of the technical bits that it isn't exactly rivetting!

As for the suggestions above, could make for some interesting google searches when clients try to find us ?

    Pony Pimps?

At a blank with this one, a quick Google shows most studs are named after the farm, but like you say, this isn't an option.

I love pony pimps that's fab! Not sure I'd be allowed though. I have been telling everyone that my husband's official title will be pimp when he takes over promoting the stallions!

So far I have Southern Cross Stud due to the Aussie connection, but not sure if that is a bit odd given that we're in Kent? We have a few horses named after wines and wine regions as well so perhaps there is a way of incorporating that?

    Similar thing here in Scotland.

Ingliston Equestrian Centre just up the road from me.

    Sorry, no creativity here!
