If the single biggest issue about your dress is the need to be unique, to have nobody else ever heard, let alone worn it, the you need to reexamine your priorities.

I didn't read that in her post, I thought she was asking for help in widening the net in her dress search, because so far it just hasn't been 'the one'.

If it is that you're just trying to widen your search net - I'd suggest trying more shops as you get to try on tons and see what they look like on. Especially with less known designers you could end up scouring the country for a dress that you then try on and it looks all wrong

I am clearly more cynical than you....OP admits to having a dress, and starts the 'game' herself. Sounded a little like market research to me.

She didn't 'admit' to having a dress (that makes it sound like a crime!); she said something has always stopped her from buying. Even if it is 'market research' what is wrong with that? I love my dress, but have to admit I found it difficult to embrace the idea that others had the same one, as silly as it sounds and would have liked to have found one that was less popular (even though I know it is right for me now).

Anyway, I have heard of the designer OP mentioned; the shop I bought my dress from has that designer in.

She claims (halfway down) to have decided on a dress and thanks for all the info.

OP, I have come across Jesus Peiro. One I'd not heard of until recently was Emannuelle Junquiera. The dresses are lovely flowing drapey numbers.
