names on table plan

AmzieM, 26 June, 2013 at 10:32 Posted on Planning 0 3

I have sorted my table plan out.

top table with 10.

and 5 round tables with up to 8 on each.

my question is: what names do i put on?

forename (Yvonne), surname (Mrs.Smith) or like Auntie Yvonne ?

ive done it as forename and surname. but then im thinking is it right? also, i know my aunties like the example always always gone off on one when not called them auntie yvonne. so shall i put it for them few or just leave it as it is?

We picked one convention and applied it to all which was First name Surname otherwise it could have got a bit messy! My Aunty prefers us to call her auntie but for the table plan, we didn't - everyone was the same.

Our table plan had first names and surnames.

Our place settings were scrabble tiles so just used first names.

It's entirely up to you - although I would choose a style and stick to it, like t4yt0 said.

Most people, myself included, do First Name Surname for everyone. It's easier that way. If you want to be very formal you can do Mrs Y Smith instead but obviously you have to do Mr Mrs for everyone if you do that and in my opinion it's a bit stuffy for a family occasion. I wouldn't put Auntie on a table plan - you probably won't put Grandma or Mum on it so I think just put people's names.
