National Wedding Fair - to go or not?

lil_lizzi49, 2 October, 2013 at 10:53 Posted on Planning 0 11

Hi Guys,

Wondered if anybody who has been to the National Wedding Fair this year could let me know if it is worth going? I have my dress, venue, caters, photographer and band booked. So i am really just looking for other ideas, is it worth it?

Many thanks

Lizzi

Hello! I'm going on Friday...like you I have my dress, tog, venue, car etc booked.

I'm only going for a day out and to get some inspiration and ideas of centrepieces and little bits and pieces. I still need to get invitations so might pick some up from there...oh, and freebies!!

Still debating this myself, the tickets are something I cant really justify at the moment and would hate to go and realise that I reeeeeally need lots of new things I hadn't even given a thought to before. However I would also like inspiration for my wedding. Tempted to go without H2B on the Friday...

I think it would be really fun Smiley smile

    Thank you.

I thought that might be the case as most wedding fairs only have the things i already organised!!

If its anything like the London one - you won't be getting this! I expected the same but later learned that suppliers were being charged £ 6k for a stand. there were lots of dresses, photographers etc. not enough "ideas" in my opinion - i was very disappointed.

Hope the NEC is different to the London one though!!

I personally don't like wedding fayres as I don't find them helpful.

Websites and forums like this are much more helpful in my opinion. Plus I find them a bit stressful and a lot of suppliers are pushy or pounce on you as soon as you walk over!

Definitely changed my mind... Will stick to the wedding fair the venues hold and that's it. I do HATE a pushy sell.

Now you've got the tickets go and see what you think - no point in wasting your money - and may be different from the london one Smiley smile

We will be there. Come and get some free pictures in our photo booth and a few dips of the chocolate fountain. Very tempted to take a slush machine too.. must check the weather forecast!
