Natwest bankers

Peaches, 13 January, 2009 at 14:39 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 7

If someone transferred money into my account at the weekend, when should I be able to see it in my bank? Tomorrow? Wednesday? Later today?

It's holding up proceedings not actually being able to 'see' it, and I'm getting jittery.

I would think it's more likely to be the end of the week. H's money from Natwest comes into our Barclays account at the start of the month but we don't always see it until the 8th.

Standard BACS payment you'll see on Wednesday if everything goes through ok. Some banks have now signed up to a faster system, but it's still a bit hit and miss.

Oh FFS, are you serious?? I'm sitting on contracts ready to go, but can't until the money is there. Dammit.

Thanks Baron. Tomorrow is better than Friday, for sure, but even so. He can't be a Natwest banker as it would be in already.

One of the downsides of being here. If I were there I would have insisted on a draft or cash, or got him to go into my bank directly.

Patience is a frustrating virtue, isn't it?!

Well at least they get something right every now and then. I've just had to spend the last 2 hours telling my local Natwest branch manager how useless they are. I've requested a PIN 4 times now for my new debit card which arrived on the 28th November and I'm still waiting for it, meaning I still can't use the bloody thing and everytime I need cash I have to go to the branch and pay a £1 to park outside it!

My H went in and had a right rant at them about them charging him for an account he never asked for for the last 12 months or more. The lad in the branch was really apologetic and was going to get them to contact him direct, about a month later and we've heard nothing. I think he's going to go in and tell them to shove their account up their arses ?
