NEC Wedding show

Anyone go? I was there very briefly having a meeting and it seemed quite quiet. The catwalk looked fab though!

Did you find it helpful if you went?

It's good that you had a good time. The stands looked fab but i didn't stop to look.

What dress was it that you liked as in a years time you might find it cheaper?

It was already down from over £1000 to £950. i couldn't have afforded it still if it'd come down to my budget cos i've not long been engaged so i don't have the cash saved up yet to spend but as soon as i have it i'm going to hunt it down and get it lol. i have the details of the shop that had it. it was the 1st dress i've tried on as well but it just has the wow factor. i'll still try on others to make sure tho

Yes and ring round local shops and ask if they have it. I found mine £250 cheaper in a shop 40 miles away!

    Did you get any freebies?

I'll def ask around then. got a few freebies but not many. got loads of brochures and samples to look through later with my mum lol. had a free make over as well as was so impressed by the products i ended up buying them which i don't normally do if someone demonstrates something on me but they were really good. found some brilliant invites that i love. you can have a photo on an acetate window and it looks really cool. just found loads of little ideas that i wrote down. its all the little things that make the day i think

    Hey spring,

h2b is taking me tomorrow! Been looking forward to it for a while. Was going to go with my BM, but not ready to buy all my accessories yet so we're off for some inspiration. Was the show hall quite big?

K_jackson...stunning dress!! Definitely shop around. What were the bridezillas like? I've not met one in real life haha

Omg there was a really bad mother. my mum said excuse me can i just squeeze past really politely and she said well you could have just walked around me and stormed off! really funny but quite scary. It was so packed that we had to go back to the bits we walked past first so we could actually see the stalls. some brides were weird around the dresses though. you could see them hovering to dive in a take a dress as soon as one bride walked an inch away from it ?

lol thanks, really wish i could get it now and just save it and make sure i stayed the same weight for a few years lol. the bridezillas are really scary!!! avoid them at all costs. they push past and blame u for bumping into them even if they blatantly walk into you and get very scary around dresses!! Never get in their way on the dress stalls lol

oh dear....i have no tolerance with people like that. Im likely to tell them where to go!

can't believe people get like that, its not like the dress is going to get worn out if everyone tries it on! ?

i'm glad I've got mine sorted now, I do not want to battle bridezillas and mumzillas!!

From what i saw it was quite big. Some of the stalls were small so there was a lot of them so a very large selection of things to look at.

The catwalk looked fab and there are people walking around in wedding dresses too which i found quite odd until i remembered where i was ?.

my wedding isn't until 2012 but i went to get ideas to start me off. i always change my mind so good to have lots of time to decide. i was thinking of using those cards for thankyou cards cos then everyone gets a wedding photo to keep on it. they just looked so good

Oooh K_Jackson, this was the first dress I tried on and thought it was the one fr a while (when i tried it on the second time I was dissappointed though, never mind) my mum still loves this one. What colour did you try it on in? The ivory pearl is really nice.

FWIW it was for sale for £1250, but the shop did offer it to me for £999, not sure what your budget it though, or how much I could have been ripped off! As Spring said in a year or two it may be cheaper anyway.

think it was the ivory pearl but cant remember. My budget is £700 but i think i'd stretch it if i found the perfect dress. The stall were selling it for £950 but said it costs over £1000 normally. Ive printed a picture off and put it in my wedding folder with the dress code so i can try an find it when the tme comes to getting my dress and see if i still love it as much
