Need advice on bouquet shapes

Purple Pixie, 18 February, 2011 at 20:37 Posted on Planning 0 8

Can anybody help me with sorting out my bouquet?

I know what a teardop shape is and I know what hand-tied is but that's where my knowledge ends. I don't really like hand-tied bouquets as wedding bouquets because I don't like seeing the stalks (even if there's ribbon tied around it). I know I'm odd! ? But I also don't like the really long shape of teardrops or those 'bouquets' that are just a single/few flowers held over the arm.

What options have I got? The flowers are important to me but I don't know how to get across what I want, and I'm not even sure I know exactly what I want ?

If you don't like seeing the stalks, then shower bouquets are your best option as these have a handle rather than stalks showing. There are lots of shower bouquets in various styles on my website for inspiration - link below.

    Hello,

You can have your bouquet wired into a dome, that way you get a very thin ribbon covered handle, I do a few more unusual bouquets, here are some for you:

This is vanda orchids on a wire base

    wire heart, very romantic

    Wire bag?

    funky corsage?

    pomander?

    orchids on wire base

    wired posy of orchids

I forgot to add a totally stunning Carmen rose! this is 1 rose with the petals of 20 roses wired to it! STUNNING!

    Hope this helps?

    Zoe xx

Hi A teardrop dosn't have to be really long, I'm having a shorter one. I google imaged shower wedding bouquets and added certain flowers to the search box that I liked and loads of pictures came up. A good florist should be able to talk your ideas through with you and come up with a bouquet thats just what you want. Smiley smile

Thanks everyone. All your posts are really helpful.

I think I like the shape of the second one that Libby posted.

The second one with the Aubergine Calla lillies looks like a small shower bouquet. I would imagine without seeing it that the handle will be bound with ribbon.

    These shapes are similar:

The 2nd one that libby send is called a small shower bouquet it is basically a posy with a small teardrop.
