Need help finding a specific poem, can't remember title

Shnarfy1, 21 September, 2010 at 20:04 Posted on Planning 0 12

I found a poem a few months ago which we decided we wanted to use as a reading but stupid me I didn't bookmark the page and now I can't find the blooming thing! I thought it was called footprints in the snow but it doesn't seem to be the right title. The poem basically went on about seeing footprints in the snow and how life changes with the footprints, and how the footprints were slowing and there once was two sets of footprints but now there was only one. It was a really lovely poem and I'd love to be able to find it again.

No it's not that one, that's a religious one. I think it was about two people walking in the snow, that's all I can remember and it's driving me mad, I really want to use it!

    Long shot but this...??

    Velvet Shoes

Let us walk in the white snow
    In a soundless space;
    With footsteps quiet and slow,
    At a tranquil pace,
    Under veils of white lace.

I shall go shod in silk,
    And you in wool,
    White as white cow’s milk,
    More beautiful
Than the breast of a gull.

We shall walk through the still town
    In a windless peace;
We shall step upon white down,
    Upon silver fleece,
    Upon softer than these.

We shall walk in velvet shoes:
    Wherever we go
    Silence will fall like dews
    On white silence below.
We shall walk in the snow.

As a child, my footprints were small,
Leaving tiny, soft prints in the snow.
    Occasionally, they would be joined
By the larger prints of my parents,
    And life went on.

As I got older, my footprints got larger,
Leaving heavier, deeper prints in the snow.
    Occasionally, they would be joined
By the same size prints of my friends,
    And life went on.

Recently, my footprints have stopped growing,
Leaving the same size prints in the snow.
They were slow, and all alone,
For there was no one to walk with,
    And life went on.

    Now, my footprints are alive,
Leaving light and easy prints in the snow.
    They are often joined
By footprints of love and caring,
    And life goes on.

    Together, our footprints travel on,
Leaving prints, side by side, in the snow.
    They are joined together
By love, friendship, and happiness, #

And together, our lives go on.

    Is it one of these...?

    http://www.wowzone.com/fprints.htm

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,

    “You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

    Sorry i'll keep trying..

    Footprints in The Snow

First time when you looked at me
You tried to hide but I could see
A special beauty in your eyes
    Passion flying like a spark
Like an arrow to the mark
I feel it sting my jealousy

Before you know there’s footprints in the snow

    Desire like a river flows
Where it comes from no one knows
Love just like a flower grows
    And then God only knows
    It comes down like guillotine

    Now I feel the rain
Of love torn by a hurricane
    One night eclipsed the sun
    How deep still waters run

How deep they go like footprints in the snow

Take my love into your brest
Commit my spirit to the test
You wwill see him like a knight
    His armour gleams
We’ll fly upon his angel’s wings
Above the clouds in rainbow rings
We can sail a ship of dream

If you will take my hand
We can cross this desert made of sand
We can break in through the ice
And feel the wind of paradise
We’ll feel it blow our footprints in the snow

    Anytime you feel alone
Just raise your hand, pick up the phone
Take in my number, there I’ll be
If one day your stars won’t shine
I will give you some of mine
Cause they could fall so easily

We both know there’s footprints in the snow

    or...

    This one??

Footprints visible in the new fallen snow Impressions left by a child not long ago As surely as winter surrenders to spring Footprints of the child begin disappearing Childhood legacies become a faded memory As we continue on life’s demanding journey Each person struggling with their unique quest Until our life is over and we are laid to rest Searching for earthly treasures comes to an end The body turning to dust as our spirit transcends Returning to the creator completing life’s journey Footprints of the adult becoming a faded memory

    What about

    walk with me along side

    man and wife in love

    with you aside me

    i'll walk to heaven above

Dont walk in front of me

    for i may not follow

    i may get myself lost

fall in any hole or hollow

    dont walk behind me

for i may lead us astray

    just walk hand in hand

    each step marriage way
