Needs weight loss tips, tricks and help.

I'm a rubbish dieter and need all the help I can get. I tried weight watchers for a short time (without the meetings) but I was only allowed 22 points and even on the days I'd done really well my lowest points total was like 28. I'm a very fussy eater but I can eat and eat and eat! I've started the cereal diet (cereal for breakfast and lunch and then a proper dinner) more to try and lessen my intake so i can do weight watchers without being constantly hungry, but I still hoped i would lose weight but I lost a pound in a week and half which was a bit disheartening (scared to weigh again in case it says +...lbs).

I tried eating Jelly but I have to be in the mood to eat it which is very rare.

If you have similiar stories, tips or tricks would love to hear I'm starting to feel its going to be impossible to lose weight ( I know its not the right frame of mind but everytime i think or feel i've done well i've put on.) Would to hear them all.

    When I did weight watchers the best think it did for me was to bulk out my meals with 'free' food. I love my food & find it hard to eat small potions so I was able to add more salad & veg to a meal to make myself full. Also I personally find that I often eat when I'm thirsty rather than hungry so upping your water intake can also help to fill you up. Its a matter of trying different things to see what works for you. I'd also agree with Claire about exercising but I've managed to lose 1lb a week for the last 3 weeks with my arm in plaster so it can be done without but it won't be anywhere as effective or likely to last as long without the exercise.

    Also you say that you've only lost 1lb in a week & a half but if you did that every week for 6 months then you'll have lost nearly a stone (my maths could be totally wrong but you get the point!) which is a much healthier way to lose the weight & you'll prob more likely to keep it off.

    Hope you're able to find a healthy way of living that enables you to lose the weight you wish to.

    I weighed myself and I've put back on the 1lb [:'(] This is the problem i have one week i lost 5lb the following week i'd managed to put it all back on, i don't know how I do it. I've not been feeling well recently (dizzy head, nausea, stomach cramps) so i've stopped dieting though i am drinking more water eating more veg and fruit and I'm going to start doing my exercise video. I'm starting to think diets aren't for me so i just increase my water in take up my exercise routine and just eat sensibly fingers cross it works.

    I think you're right about diets not being right for everyone. Maybe you could keep track of your meaurements rather than weight, you may find you're losing inches rather than lbs.

    Thanks for the advice, I'm cutting out chocolate and bread for lent [:'(] but fingers crossed I hope it helps! I've also started doing my trusty exercise video again and start walking more and just see what helps.

    I have lost just over a stone since Xmas doing the slimming World diet but I have now come to a stand still, do these berries really work??

    I think Weight loss goals are supposed to not just be to lose weight. Weight loss is not a work out you have to do once and then ignore about it. A successful weight loss is when you manage to lose weight by changing your lifestyle and eating habits and not by just saving calories and creation calculations. I was in the same situation earlier..I was 255 pounds and wanted to lose it fast. Honestly, there's no fast or easy way. I have chosen Hoodia diet pills for me and it really worked. It helps to burn more fat from body even when I'm resting.. I got new confidence after the weight loss program…

    I think you should try it ones...Surely you will get desired results...

    A neighbour of ours was overweighted at times. She did every efforts possible to reduce extra fats. But she was not getting the satisfactory results which she was expecting. I advised her to stop everything which was doing. I asked her to have 3-4 glass of lukewarm water on empty stomach every day. With this I also told her to run around few miles early morning. Trust me, it worked out and she loose couple of pounds in the first fortnight itself.

    I had 5 stone to lose in 18 months, for health as well as wedding reasons. I'm now 15lbs down after 2 months and doing well. I have a few tips that work for me:

    1. Cut down on bread. it seems if I have more than one sandwich in a week I don't lose anything, regardless of what else I eat or don't eat. I have soup or fruit salad for lunch, save the bread for bacon sarnies at the weekend. Other carbs don't seem to have the same effect, I can eat pasta, spuds and rice without issue.

    2. Porridge! Oats are low fat, filling, good for you etc. I start each day with a bowl, oat-so-simple makes it very easy, and I'm not hungry for 4 hours. And my cholesterol has dropped by a whole point since the new year.

    3. Cut portion sizes by just a little. It takes your stomach about 3 weeks to shrink when you start dieting, so if you cut down by a little you won't feel hungry. 80g of pasta is plenty for a main meal.

    4. Drink water. I used to drink 8 cups of tea a day, with 2 sugars in each, so I cut down to 2 cups and added 1.5l of water. I'm artificial sweetener intolerant, so I still have 2 sugars, but I enjoy tea even more now! Water will help flush water retaining toxins and improve digestion too.

    5. There are very few calories in mushrooms - a really useful filler for loads of different dishes, as long as you don't fry them in butter of course. I get through over a kilo in a week!

    6. There's no point denying yourself something that you love, you just have to figure out how to make it work. Chocolate craving - go for Aero or Nestle Crunch, you can have a whole strip for under 100 calories. Red meat - lean steak has no more calories than chicken breast. Wine - dry white is OK in small quantities, or spirits & diet soda. The only thing I have trouble with is cheese, the low fat versions don't grill too well.

    7. There are more calories in Ribena than Coca Cola! It's always worth reading labels - you'd be surprised at the calories you're not expecting. You'll also find more sugar in 'low fat' diet foods, and lots of salt.

    8. Don't panic if you don't lose anything or even gain in a week. Hormones, water retention, digestion, muscle mass all play a part in weight loss. As long as the general trend is down it's fine. I gained a pound in my first week of diet, then lost 4lbs the next, probably due to water and digestion changes, but it all evens out eventually.

    There's no real quick fix for weight loss, if there was we'd all be doing it. Hope some of these tips are useful I can't guarantee they'll work for everyone, but they seem to be doing the trick for me!

    Hi,

    The best way to lose weight is to use more calories than you take in. Take low-calorie eating as much as possible with a wide range of healthy foods

    Eat a variety of fruits — fresh, frozen, canned, or dried rather than fruit juice.

    Eat more, dark green veggies, such as broccoli, kale, and other dark leafy greens. Get less than 2,200 mg of sodium (about 1 teaspoon of salt) each day.Choose lean meats and poultry. Bake it, broil it, or grill it.

    Try these,

    Eating a little high quality protein for each main meal can help cut appetite and suppress cravings.

    Eating slowly can lead to weight loss.

    Substituting a bottle of juice or can of pop with a bottle of water every day.

    Increase the physical work, like take the dog for a walk or take the stairs instead of elevators.
