I hope so. Have you booked anything yet for your wedding? There is so much that I want to do but Im trying to contain myself as our date is so far away. The only thing that I will prob do this year is book the venue. I also cant wait to try on dresses - just to see lol

So far all I've booked is an engagement photo shoot.

But I'm emailing around to get quotes, as we are having a marquee wedding, so there seems to be loads to organise - loos, generators, catering, chair hire etc! We are hoping to get the marquee booked up this year, as we're scared it will get booked by someone else for a summer event / festival.

So far I've emailed marquee, circus tent and canvas tent companies and portable loo hire companies (those unit loos, not festival type ones!)

2012 might seem far away now but will soon fly in. i've been engaged for 9 mths now and cant believe how quickly the time has passed!

go try on some dresses its great fun and doesn't do any harm to get an idea of what you like!

An engagement photoshoot sounds fab! We are having our engagement party in August so still trying to organise that.

I love the marquee idea, didnt realise all the things you have to consider and organise to have one though! It will be good if you could book this year though. we are going back to our favourite venue (Brands Hatch Hotel & Spa) on Thursday with our parents to show them.

Hoping that if we book soon they will fix the price for us as it will be more expensive in 2012. Im going to try my bargaining skills and see if they will do this for us.

I have looked at a few sites and there is quite a contrast to the dresses I do like, So far there is a hollywood dreams dress that I like - a proper princess dress and 2 Ronald Joyce dresses one is a slinky fishtail, and another called sandra from the berketex website, all are completely different so maybe having a little try would give me a better idea!

Well me and Andy had been out and had Tapas had a really nice evening and when we got home I was just sitting there and all of a sudden he starts talking about our relationship and how much he loves me when all of a sudden he got down on one knee and pulls out my dream ring - (pear shaped diamond, with a platinum diamond band). I started to cry and said yes!

It was lovely he said that he was going to wait until our 5 anniversary which was in a few weeks or when we went to egypt which is in September but couldn't wait and was too excited!

Although we had talked about marriage, kids and stuff it was quite a surprise but a really happpy one x

you'll find this site a lot of fun, VERY honest (we don't do much fluffy 'oooh hun' stuff on here - ask for an opinion and you'll get 'em....), uber helpful, probably adding things to your wedding that you'd never even thought of and - yes, v v addictive.... and 2012 isn't so far away!

And yes, photos required of everything, so get flashing that ring! Sounds fab!

Where abouts in Kent? I grew up in Eltham and Bexleyheath but I'm up in Scotland now ....

ooh my sister lives in Eltham! I live literally 2 mins from Bluewater I can actually walk there if I wanted, Scotland now that is a long way from Kent lol never been but heard its gorgeous.

I always wonder which way around people wear pear shaped stones! - so you wear it so you can see the pear.

Congrats on your engagement and welcome to Hitched. I'm an old married of 3 weeks now and started planning 2 years in advance so 2012 will be here before you know it. I still don't know if it has hit me that my wedding day has been and gone now! ☹️
