Do you mean exchanged by 23rd Nov? I'd be surprised if that was ready to move into on 23rd Nov - unless your builders work mega quick. With ours we had to exchange by a certain date but the completion could be delayed.

They are building the houses opposite us and it's quite interesting to watch them go up.

That's what I thouught. The letter says ours must be sold and ready to exchange by Nov...I can't see how the house will be ready. We were originally told sometime after Christmas, but then they told us it would be earlier so not sure. Still the valuations seem to be OK, so if we can't get a buyer I don't think the part exchange offer will be too low.

Scary / Exciting stuff!! It's actually amazing how fast those developments seem to spring up though so they could be right, that's nearly 2 months away! Just think, maybe you'll be in a new house by the new year?

    I can join in!

Ours will also be finished in January 2013. I love the views it has! This is from the back, it will face onto the lane beyond the bushes.

So exciting watching it being built. When ours was being built we used to drive round there every 2 weeks or so and just stand outside and squeee! Our friends were buying the flat underneath us too at the time so we all used to have little trips together and watch it develop. x

That's so nice! We won't know anyone in the area and we will be a bit further away from our family so it's a bit daunting. I went back yesterday and they've got the window frames sort of in now...and a sold sign has gone up!

Yes we have an appointment next week to go in and look at the colour schemes we want. OH has already voted for black granite worktops as well as black gloss cupboard fronts and dark laminate floor for in the kitchen, which I think sounds vile so I anticipate a heated debate about this and every other colour in the house!

PB - the show home on our development has the kitchen you describe - it's actually really nice and OH started dribbling when he saw it! You do need a bright room to get away with it though

Ooh thanks - it's not as bad and gloomy as I was picturing. That's exactly the same layout as ours will be too. It is quite a light room so could poss pull it off. I just worry it will be really dated in years to come and think something 'classic' would be better, but OH wants to go ultra modern as he thinks 'classic' = old fashioned.
