Thank you. Its still surreal thinking about planning a wedding. We dont even know where to start! We are thinking venue..maybe??

First think about your guest list - this will dictate how big your venue needs to be and from my experience, there are always more people on it than you expect!

Then think about budget - how much do you want to spend? How much can you save etc?

Then yes, venue is the next step!

Congratulations !! I'm new to this to but its amazing its like having thousands of bridesmaids to help and support you with your wedding planning.

Great Advice again Kharv, and i would agree def start with numbers once you added them up it may be more than you thought ... I had a bit of a shock lol !!!

This time of year until march/april is peek wedding fayre season so you will have up untill then if you want to get started, otherwise they start again in October , but never see them in December, Its funny the amount of grooms I see at wedding fayres this time of year with dazed expressions as they have only just popped the question Christmas/ new year/ valentines day and then here they are looking at teal coloured cravats when they should be playing football, and then constantly being told--go away you cant see this, and then being told that he doesn't contribute. If you mention your location you may get more specific venue help

It was my birthday on 21st Jan and I thought we were just going away for that last weekend but no...he proposed on 28th Jan in Exeter.

I think guests is the first thing then ?

I'm a newbie too, just been engaged for 2 months. Kharv has a good point about guest list then venue. We did that and it was a big surprise, our 60-75 people we anticipated quickly became 100 for the day.

I would also talk to your FIANCÉ (still exciting to say that) and decide what your top priorities are, and if necessary, what you would be willing to compromise on. For example, we decided that having everyone we wanted there was number 1 priority, which meant that number 2, to have the rest of the day in our home town, rather than a 30 min drive away, couldn't happen, as there is nowhere here for that amount of people.

Do you know when you are planning the wedding for yet?

Welcome and congratulations! I got engaged on 23rd December so also new to it all. Definitely do your guest list first and talk to the parents about who they want there as well. Good luck! X
