Look out for sample dresses in boutiques - sign up to mailing lists to find out when they have their sales. I found a perfect dress for £250 and my seamstress in going to remodel a few bits for me. I didn't know what the price was - Itried the dress on with about 10 other but kept going back to it. when I asked how much it was I couldn't believe it as we are also on a budget. You don't need to spend the earth to feel a million dollars! Happy dress shopping x

There's also the website outlet which sells of designer dresses - has quite a few wedding dresses (or ones that could be) for under £300. Alternatively look for sample sales. I picked up my wedding dress for £99 in one!

Total accident! sis in law to be told bout a shop that had a sale on, went and had a look and fell in love! I will have to get it cleaned and altered which will add another £2-300.

I got mine for £300 in a sample sale for £2000. I've had to pay £100 to get it dry cleaned as it was filthy and I'll have to pay for alterations.

But it might be worth thinking about if you have a while before the big day.

If you aren't oppose to secondhand, try ebay and preloved.
