Mines an Augusta Jones dress from Karen Forte in Bassingbourn, have you been there? I couldnt praise them higher, their service was excellent!

Aw ive heard of hitchin priory, we are getting married at a village church in Barkway (near royston) and the reception venue is unconfirmed yet, trying to confirm that this week!!

Post a photo of your dress so we can see it Smiley smile there is quite a few brides who have had experiences with getting copies, im sure when they see this they will pop up. The sites I know of are Landybridal and light in the box

Do you have a chosen colour theme or style yet? Im having olive green and ivory with a hint of purple in the bouquets and some decorations (cant decide what shade yet) with a vintage/shabby chic theme

I have been looking at landy bridal or sweetclareweddings but am going to do a little more research first. colours i am really torn between are deep purple and ivory or a brighter purple with ivory. i will put a piccyon of the dress i have fallen in love with. i want the alfred angelo (or copy)1136.

We have two young children so we are aiming for a layed back day so its fun all around my eldest has been begging me for a cupcake tower so i have agreed to that for her.

your colour scheme sounds lovely. xx

That dress is GORGEOUS!!! is it over budget for you then?? If so, then id try the china places but from experience of what others have gone through on here, order as early as you can then if when it arrives theres any issues you have plenty of time to sort it, hope that helps you Smiley smile

Your colours are similar yay Smiley smile I cant decide what shade to go for....just waiting for the swatchs from the bridesmaids dresses!

Ah a cupcake tower sounds fab, im hoping to have one of those too with a bigger cake on top.

What else have you got left to do before the big day?

This is my dress.... Im having it in oyster underneath with ivory lace and changing the silvery bits on the front for pearls and other vintage ish style embellishments

Also im having it pinned further down my legs so it does more of a fish tail!

Its a tough one i prob could stretch to the actual dress but there is just something holding me back as we want a honey moon then come back and to take a holiday as a family so its more of a case of having to juggle funds!!! i dont want my lil girls to suffer just because of me spending too much on a dress!!!

thats what we have done with the cupcake tower we have 74 large cupcakes 48 minis and a 8inch cake on top!!! we got a great deal tho £140 including stand decorations on cakes and delivery!!!

the wedding photography is sorted by recommendation of someone a friend has used which actually turns out to be the best quote we got anyway and they did a free engagement shoot which was lovely to get an idea of the style photos we want!

havnt thought about flowers and tables yet!!!

    what about you xx

    Aww thanks Smiley smile

Wow that quote for cupcakes is really good, what supplier did you get for that? and the photography? thats the only area I know im going to go over budget for as Im a photographer myself so ive been doing my own savings to add to it lol

The honeymoon idea sounds good especially fitting in a second one when you get back with your children. Are you having your girls as flowergirls/little bridesmaids?

Where abouts are you from? I live in buntingford (near royston, herts) not sure if youve heard of it

One of my best friends got married at Fanhams, its beautiful but we didn't want to go where someone else we knew had been. She didn't see the other bride really, I didn't know there was another wedding going until the evening reception. Although Neighbours were also there filming Phil and Stella's wedding!!

    Hi,

I have recently got married. I have an Alfred Angelo dress 1136 that i am looking to sell. It really is absolutely stunning and I wondered if you have found your dress yet or if you would be interested in purchasing mine.

Email me back if you are interested and I can go through any questions that you have.

    Many thanks

    Hi,

I have recently got married. I oredred the Alfred Angelo dress 1136 from China and it arrived in an A$ jiffy bag, i was absolutly gutted so i then went to Confetti & Lace at Lakeside and brought the real thing that i am looking to sell. It really is absolutely stunning and I wondered if you have found your dress yet or if you would be interested in purchasing mine.

Email me back if you are interested and I can go through any questions that you have.

    Many thanks

Another Herts Bride-to-be. I'm based by Welwyn.

I drove round quite a number of the big, popular wedding venues, so I can give you a report on those if want anything specific. Pendley Manor in Tring was one of my favourites just a stuning location. But the best local location to Welwyn would be Tewin Bury.

For dresses, there are two shops in Berkhamsted, both of which have a lovely selection and friendly staff. And there are quite a few in St Albans that are really nice. Losners in Victoria stuck in my mind as very helpful. But its worth a trip to St Albans and parking up, because there is quite a few to walk around.

    Photography, I recommend www.photographybyriddell.co.uk

Now can anyone recommend me a menwear hire shop? My fiance really wants a white or off white suit. We can find business style suits and top and tails, but not a wedding morning type suit.

    Hi

I'm a Herts Bride!! I'm from Hemel Hempstead.

I've been wedding dress shopping in Brides of Berkhamstead and they have gorgeous dresses.

I need to go to some more shops, does anyone know of any shops that have fish tail shapped dresses??

I'm a Herts bride Smiley smile Other half any myself are both born and raised in Herts, him in Hoddesdon and me in Hitchin. We live in Brookmans Park now. Reception is in Albury, near Bishops Stortford (sort of halfway between our two parents homes) - and currently trying to decide between Hertford County Hall or Bishops Stortford County Hall for ceremony, though we have County Hall booked at the moment!

Has anyone got married at Stortford Registry Office? I think I've fallen in love with the Tudor room...

    xx

I totally agree that Pendley has some fantastic features and is a good venue. I have photographed weddings at Tewinbury literally dozens of times....although from experience prefer The Old Priory near Little Wymondley. Tewinbury is excellent, although a bit of a production line. They ruined the paddock to allow more weddings at the same time at the venue....You may see the whole venue although on the day be limited and excluded from parts of it to cater for other weddings. If this isn't a problem, its a fine venue.

Last time I did Stortford, parking for the guests was a pain. Hertford County Hall has some decent features...have you considered Hertford Castle? (numbers are more limited here tho) Whatever you choose, you have Herts registrars...IMO for a long time the best in the area of nearby counties.
