New York!

BarcaGirl25, 3 December, 2013 at 13:55 Posted on Planning 0 14

Hiya!

I was gonna ask this on the Honeymoon forum but it seemed a lil dead over there so I thought I would pick your brains over here!

Day 5 of our Honeymoon is also my Birthday and the day we go to New York for a few days. My OH wants to take me out for dinner but with me never having been there before and him having only gone in his younger days where good food was of less importance to him neither of us knows where to start.

Anyone got any suggestions?!

Thanks in advance Smiley smile

Fabulous. You may need to keep an eye on the booking though - I think space comes up three months ahead...

The View - it's a revolving restaurant and it has amazing views and lovely food. We went there for my birthday in October and had a fab time.

I just checked their website and they say 28 days in advance. I have dropped them an email as well to clarify the date as i don't want to get it wrong.

Gramercy Tavern is at the top of my list every time. It's where New Yorkers go for a special occasion. The View, in my opinion, is a tourist trap. Other fine dining restaurants I really like are Union Square Cafe, One if by land two if by sea, and Gotham Bar & Grill.

Zagat is really good for reviews by the way.

Thanks everyone! Great suggestions. To be fair we kinda don't mind a little bit of a tourist trap (!) but I'm in contact with the Gramercy Tavern.

If you like Steak then I would go to either STK Rooftop or Keens - both seriously tasty food. STK is more glam, and Keens is more traditional.

A romantic restaurant was Union Square Cafe, which was tasty and sweet, but not overly glam. But still very nice, and freindly helpful staff. I reckon if you told them it was your honeymoon and birthday they would make a fuss.

Or if you want to slum it and go grubby style, then The Burger Joint in Le Parker Meridien can't be beaten on tasty burgers. Smiley smile

Amazing! New York is the besets city on earth....I lived there a month this september and its just totes awesome!! You have to go to the Brooklyn flea market in Williamsburg on a Sunday, have a google to check days but its got the most amazing view of the skyline. Then just hang in williamsburg for an evening its so fun. Local tube stop is Bedford Avenue, and any of those bars around there would be fun fun fun. Great hipster vibe!!
