New York...hotel suggestions?

lumc86, 6 November, 2012 at 15:21 Posted on Planning 0 9

Looking into the possibilty of going to New York in April for our honeymoon for about 5 days. Money is pretty tight, but can anyone reccomend a decent luxurisou(ish)/romantic hotel that wont break the bank (or am I asking the impossible!!).

Thanks :o)

We recently stayed at The Belvedere, just off Times Square, and it was absolutely lovely. The upper floors have been refurbished and are a very good size. The views are amazing too.

We stayed at The Jumeirah, Essex House, on Central Park at Christmas which was incredibly more expensive, the rooms were small and the view was of a lift shaft. There was hardly any room to move around the bed and the bathroom, although very luxurious was actually very small.

I've stayed at The New Yorker http://www.expedia.co.uk/New-York-Hotels-The-New-Yorker-Hotel.h41009.Hotel-Information?gclid=CPXb5aWKu7MCFSHHtAodmjMA2Q&semcid=expe.UK.001.003.03.02&rm1=a2&kword=The_New_Yorker_Hotel!e.ZzZz.1650001830085.0.27444441463.the%20new%20yorker%20hotel.the_new_yorker_hotel&

which was amazing, 1 block from Empire State and I've also stayed at The Radisson Edwardian which is close to Times Square https://www.booking.com/hotel/us/radisson-martinique-on-broadway.en-gb.html

Both completely faultless and you can always find a deal online for them.

Most NY hotel rooms are quite small, so don't be alarmed.

And get loads of quarters for the subway (LOVE the subway!)

    Expedia.com is a great price for a deal x

Last time we stayed in the Intercontinental which was great as it's very central. For our honeymoon we're staying in Grand Hyatt as they had a really good offer on.

Both times we've booked through Hotwire.

If you book through Quidco you can usually get about 10% cashback too which always helps.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn on W35th street. Nice little place, lovely staff and one street back from the ESB so amazing views! Tell them you're honeymooners when you book and you might get wine sent to your room or they might make sure you're on the side of the building facing the ESB

We stayed in the Roosevelt in February too! I would go back there. Breakfast was expensive but plenty of options nearby!
