Hello and welcome ?

My proposal was partly romantic, partyl awful! He did it on my birthday last year and used one of the cards I have in the house - on the fron it said 'Birthday princess, today may all your wishes come true' (which sounds very soppy but I was really pleased he'd actually bothered to read the fronts of the cards and not send me one of the Gary Larson ones lol) Inside he'd written the usual happy birthday stuff anf then put 'by the way we need to go ring shopping, will you marry me?' I started screaming when I read it and he had to run off and go sit on the toilet for half an hour - he'd eaten raw chicken while drunk at a BBQ the weekend before and it was the worst food poisoning ever lol we spent the rest of the day on the toilet (him), ringing people and being very excited (me), sitting in the doctors waiting room (both of us), half an hour's ring shopping (both) and dropping of various samples at the doctors later on (me unfortunately)!!!

But to be honest, even though I always dreamed of a big romantic proposal, I wouldn't change it one bit, except I obviously wish he could have enjoyed the day more

Enjoy being a Hitcher, but beware it's highly addictive!

Glad to know it's not just me that didn't get the big romantic proposal! I wasn't too disappointed and to be honest it was my fault mainly as he'd wanted to make it more romantic with a ring and everything, but every time we went ring shopping, I could never find one I liked and managed to pick a fault with every one I saw. (When it eventually came round to getting one, I fell in love with the second one I tried on, that he picked out anyway!!)

I can see why people get addicted to this site. I have done nothing else on the internet apart from come on here and read pretty much every thread I come across! If my friends could see me now, they would drop dead from shock! This is me that never wears dresses and doesn't usually like anything slightly girly, getting excited about everything wedding related. Looking on here has really made me want to get a date set. Will have to start the nagging soon (turning into a wife already, haha!)

And thanks for the offers of help, everyone seems really lovely on here!
