I'm completely new to this kind of thing. It's been great this afternoon reading through some posts and discovering what everyone talks about. So a little about me...
OH is moving in within the month. We've known each other for nearly 6 years and he's been a very close friend for a long time. Finally, he plucked up the courage and asked me out and now here we are! We aren't officially engaged yet ? (we said we would wait until he moved in) but he cannot wait and has asked me to look at venues and pull together a budget. I couldn't believe he actually asked that - most of my friend's OH have shown no interest in budgeting or searching for venues. Anyway, we have the ring design and waiting to save up enough to buy it (we discovered it was cheaper than buying one from the local stores). So I think this may be a long engagement but I need to start on budget ideas now and thought you lovely ladies (and guys!) could help me along my way. We have a lot of groundwork before we can actually set the date, etc.
Any good suggestions on small venues around the Bucks / Berks / Oxon area? ?
We are looking at a civil ceremony at the same venue as the breakfast and reception - hopefully this will be cheaper than doing it at different locations.
