    Congrats & welcome to Hitched!

I'm getting married in Oct 2010 so not too much before you.

I was a bridesmaid on 23rd Dec a few years ago - it was a great way to kick off Christmas in style! We wore gold dresses with cream flowers, bride had ivory dress and dark red roses. Was a church service and we sang carols. Church & reception venue already had lots of decorations / Xmas tree up which is a bonus! Welcome drink was mulled wine, tables were named after Xmassy things & the centre pieces were vases with a church candle in and lots of holly at the bottom.

    Hello and congratulations

I'm new on here too, i'm getting married on New Years Eve this year, in June we went to the venue as they were having an open day and provisonally booked 4 next summer, but as we were both married previously in summer we wern't completely stuck on idea, then spotted New Year and just thought how great it would be, i love christmas and new year so we are really excited. Its all very overwhelming and i keep getting a bit emotional about it because i'm so happy (soppy sod!!)

If i can help you with anything i will xx

Thanks for all your replies ladies!!! Ive been scouring the internet and im just confused lol.

All we want is the ceremony and then the evening reception, none of the breakfast/sitdown meal stuff, just a giant party!!!! We also have an extremely limited budget so anyone have any ideas for a cheap reception venue in essex?? Ideally we'd like to do the catering ourselves but i know a lot of venues wont let you grrr. I want cheap, but at the same time i dont just want to have it any old place if you know what i mean!!! I need somewhere thats going to let me have real xmas trees too lol. Thinking silver and white decor with baby pink dress, but knowing me I'll have changed my mind a million times by then!!!

Hope someone can help!!! Thanku xxx

Hey google wedding venues in essex, where abouts are you looking? I think ive seen some in brentwood that are reasonable, how much did you want to pay? It may be an idea to try somewhere local to you, especially if you want to sort out the catering yourself, it sounds amazing having a xmas wedding, I thought about it but want a summer one so I get presents then too, lol, we both have winter b-days. ?

Hi, we were going to get married in December 2010, only have a small budget the same as yours, are you the Forest bride??, my parents and my sister live in Newent and I used to live in Huntley. We have changed to September as Mum is worried about the bad weather and guests getting stuck!!, we are looking at a venue at Pontshill in August, we have not done any more planning!!!, have you got your dress and if yes where was it from??
