Beginner March 2016

Newbie saying Hi!

MrsLloyd2b, 12 April, 2015 at 10:05 Posted on Planning 0 10

Hey ladies, just popping by to introduce myself! I'm Lou and I have been engaged for 8 days (hurrah) and am already in full planning mode. My OH and I are hoping to tie the knot next March (2016). We're off to the big wedding fair at the Excel Centre in London next Saturday and have five venues booked in to view the following day. So if we go ahead and book for March (and dates are filling up fast) that will give us about 10 months to plan everything by the time we've booked. Does that sound feasible? I know some brides spends years planning their big day, can I do it all in 10 months without exploding???

I look forward to all of the great advice and support on here xxx

Congratulations and.welcome aboard. 10 months is perfectly reasonable but you will find you need to book the main things very soon. plenty of time, though for keeping things stress free and enjoyable!

Hi, congratulations! Definitely feasible, I did it in 8 months, and it sounds like you're getting organised! I would say that once you have your venue and your date, its photographer next (its amazing how far in advance they get booked up!) Then dress, then band/DJ, the other bits aren't so time critical. Hope you enjoy the planning!

Congratulations. We changed the date of our wedding so instead of having 2 1/2 years as originally planned, we ended up planning it in 7 months. So yes. I'd say 10 months is very doable but get a photographer that you love asap.

Thank you ladies! It helps that I have planned most of it in my head for the past few years! Will definitely get venue booked within the next month then will find a photographer, thanks for the tip, I probably wouldn't have put that at the top of my list to sort out at all, so will get on it! xxx

Welcome to hitched and a huuuuge congratulations to you. 10 months will be doable, definitely.

We've had phone calls from couples 3 weeks before they're getting married having just booked last minute venue deals and so on. If they can do it, you can too.

We're a good bunch on here, so if you're ever stuck or needing recommendations in your area, all you'd need do is ask.

    Hi and welcome!

If they can plan a wedding in 3 weeks on DTTB 10 months will be a doddle. X
