I've never really bought a lot from there before and i've never bought stuff online. But they've started doing plus size stuff and i've seen a dress that i like. If i buy it online can i return it in the shop if it doesn't fit/look right?

Yyes you can. However you need to have a Next account (ie directory member) to be able to order online. If you don't have this you can go into any store and order from the catalogue, pay for it then collect and return if it's not right.

I bought from next online recently and didn't have to do this. Just bought online and agreed to have the directory sent to me instead of paying postage for the dress I ordered. I then decided to return the dress so just took it to a store.

How do i get a directory number? I've just registered on their website, stuck name address etc in there. I've had a confirmation email to say thanks for registering. Is that all i need to do? Also if i have the dress delivered to the store rather than home do i get free delivery if i pick it up from there?

Just beware of this as they usually then send a new directory every time one comes out and charge you £3.50 each time!

Chids I'm not sure. My sister used to work there and told me I'd be better ordering from the catalogue instore than online as they charge for the directory.

I ticked that i didn't want the directory and that i'd just pay the £3.95 delivery charge. They shouldn't send me the directory now should they?

Yes if you have stuff delivered to store then you do't pay postage but it can sometimes take a couple of days longer than having it delivered to your house

if I need to send stuff back I always take it into store as it's easier for me to pop to town and am generally there a couple of times a week anyway

I don't think they will. And yes, delivery to a store is free.

I might not order it online then and nip to Next tomorrow after work and order it in the store. Do i just go to the counter and say that i've seen a dress online and i'd like to order it. The time limit doesn't matter as i've got 5 weeks until my friends wedding. This is the dress that i am after btw.

You can still order online, not have the directory (just make sure you tick a box somewhere) and collect from store for free. This is what I usually do as I have the Tall stuff and so few stores ever actually seem to have it, although they all seem to carry petite stuff!

    ETA - That's a lovely dress!

I've just had a new directory and apparently they don't charge unless you order something from that directory. So they can keep on sending me directorys - I don't think I'll be ordering anyhting from it anytime soon.

Thanks for you help, i'll go and order it tonight in the store.

Hullabaloo - i like it too, i was wearing a top and trouser outfit for the wedding but fancied a dress all along. I'll try it if it doesn't make me look too much like a whale then i'll wear it, if it's bad i'll go back to the top/trouser combo.
