nice/funky jewellery for men? (not bling!)

sparklejunkie, 12 March, 2009 at 14:01 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 10

Hello,

can anyone recommend somewhere I could find a nice, kind of funky chain necklace for a man (if there is such a thing!)?

my h has worn a gold chain for years and his 30th birthday is coming up... his wedding ring is platinum and he's hinted he might like something to go with that rather than clashing as his current necklace does. Can't stretch to platinum, unfortunately, but was thinking maybe silver or possibly something like titanium (don't want white gold). Everything I've found so far is cheap and nasty-looking and/or hideous. Any ideas?

I've looked at the likes of Links, Tiffany and high streety places like Ernest Jones and so far no joy.

Or should I just buy him a Wii instead??

?

If he's anything like my H then a Wii will go down an absolute storm, so i'd definitely go for that ?

    Thanks guys

that would be a heck of a lot easier, wouldn't it? do you reckon that's 'special' enough as a 30th b'day pressie? i've kind of got it in my head that i need to get him a keepsake, but that's probably girly thinking on my part, isn't it? (i.e. I'd like a keepsake when I'm 30 but he might not be bothered)

    Try looking on www.titaniumera.com

G&T got my wedding ring there and I rather like some of the other stuff

He already has two and virtually never wears either of them... he's a software developer and spends all days typing. apparently when he wears a watch while typing it annoys him - consequently on the rare occasions when he does wear a watch he ends up taking it off the second he gets to work and invariably leaving it in work when he goes home.

    so unfortunately that's out! ?

I can recommend www.johngreeddesign.co.uk. H got his wedding ring from them, and I ordered him some lovely, unusual silver cufflinks last year.

I'd defintely go with the wii plus you'll benefit from it too ?

I'm afraid men wearing chains (whatever the colour or size) leaves me cold <grits teeth>

Thanks Tulip O'Hare, I noticed that name in my searches... will check that one out too.

tah-dah, I know just what you mean, but h has always worn one so i'm kind of used to how he looks in it (and he's yummy, obviously! ? ), even though as a rule I don't like that kind of jewellery. That probably is also why I'm struggling to find him a replacement!

OK, so if I went for the Wii... are there any games people would recommend? I've played Wii Sports and Sonic and Mario at the Olympics but am otherwise clueless.
